You can avoid negative thoughts by practising looking forwards and focusing on strength and not weakness/ solutions and not problems/ looking after others and not own and responsible to all around.This comes by practice.
Anxiety disappears if you think and solve any conflict immediately. If not you will be in a fix.
You need to exercise daily meditate for few minutes do power yoga and breathing exercises slowly
and yoga nidra.
Try these and you will be laughing.

health n fitness is in seated on tripod of ahar, nidra n bramhacharya n your 2 legs of tripod is missing equilibrium so take it head on,
till then have jatamansi churna 3gm before bed with milk for 5-7 days.

hi this can occur due to indigetion also because ......acc. ayurveda if pitta dosh is raised then nidra nash is occur .....so due to indigetion pitt dosh get vetiated and it effect on sleep .....so for that take follwing remedies
1.sarswatarishta 4 tsp after lunch ad dinner
2.chandrakala ras vati 2 tab after lunch and dinner
have it for 1 month ...only

There more to do with culture shock & Alienation as you mentioned. You have insecurity and lack of confidence and self esteem. You need to undergo counselling till you are reassured.
You need to do exercise/ keep socializing, Yoga and meditation and relaxation techniques/ Yoga nidra and pranayama and participate in sociocultural events and keep in touch with your root.
You undergo self help through CBT.
