Modalert contains Modafinil which acts as a wake-fulness agent. This cognitive enhancer helps people to stay awake, be focused and helps patients to work better. It is known that Modalert works on certain brain chemicals which controls the sleep/wake cycle. Students use this medicine to stay alert and awake during examinations. This also effectively improves the attention span of people. Doctors should be consulted before using this medicine. Some of known side effects of this medicine are headaches, insomnia, dry mouth and stomach aches.

I am 22 years old female. I am having OCD since two years. I am having Fluxoin, Lonzep, ModAlert tablets. Yet I am not able to completely overcome my OCD. I have OCD while studying. I repeat lines and sentences when I study. I have a very anxious nature. When I am tensed, I do the repetitive actions more. I am not finding any relief from medicines I am taking and counselling I am going through, I still have OCD. I want to know some tips and suggestions so as to deal with OCD and also reduce my anxiety and lead a happy life.

Hello , ocd is a difficult disorder to treat, but with proper treatment and behaviour therapy, you can experience significant relief, such that it will no longer affect your studying or day to day activities. Drugs like fluvoxamine need to be taken at an adequate dose for 6-12 weeks to see measurable results. You haven't mentioned the dose and duration of the drugs mentioned. I am on antidepressants from the last 6 years. I take lamitor, bupron, fluvoxin and modalert daily as prescribed by my doctor. It has provided me some improvement but the the issue it not completely resolved. The main problem is with the memory. Out of 7 days in a week around 3 days I find difficult to remember things for example my batch mate name. The day I do not take the medicine I keep forgetting after every 5 minutes. There is no mental stress in my life, therefore I don't know what exactly is the root cause. I have heard that mental stress might not be the only reason for depression. Even if it is depression I have never heard it to be linked with memory loss. I am a researcher in genomics and I do fell that some further research in this field could give some explanation. I daily do yoga where I daily put a few drops of medicated badam oil in my nose and as soon as I use it my mind feels relaxed. If I miss my medicine or do not use the oil, the memory loss becomes very evident. May me the oil has something to do with neurotransmitters. Earlier I took only fluoxetine for a couple of years but when I shifted to my present medicines, I found a drastic improvement but now it has become stagnant. Is there some better cure.

Dear , as you know modafinil is not a stimulant but it is a pharmaceutical drug.
You are strongly advised not to use it. It is meant for narcolepsy.
Anyways it is not easily available.
