Etifem 200Mg Tablet
Etifem 200Mg Tablet is a drug that is mainly used to prevent bone fractures. It is also used in the treatment of Paget’s syndrome and heterotopic ossification in people. These problems are found in people who have had total hip replacements or have sustained injuries to the spine.
This drug is a bisphosphonate that works by binding to hydroxyapatite crystals in the matrix of the bone. This results in the reduction of the number of osteoclasts which in turn decreases bone resorption. It may also induce bone formation by stimulating osteoblasts.
This medication should be taken empty stomach once a day. Take the tablet with a glass of water and do not eat or drink anything just before or after taking this drug. Do not take any other medications including antacids and vitamin supplements that may contain magnesium, calcium, aluminium or iron.
It is advised to consume this medication as directed by the doctor. Patients are advised to consume supplemental calcium and vitamin D, if dietary intake is inadequate.
