Being a regular smoker, motivational therapy with a trained psychotherapist or a psychiatrist and enormous will power will help you quit. If you are a diseased smoker, consult a de addiction psychiatrist at the earliest. He may give you anti-addiction medications and de addiction treatment. Medicines like bupropion and verinicline also help in treating addiction of smoking or chewing tobacco. One can get the prescription of the same from a qualified psychiatrist.

First step is you can chew nicotine chewing gums instead of smoking available as nicotex (cipla). Second step is using antidepressants like bupropion or venlafaxine but should be done under a deaddiction program under supervision of a psychiatrist who has experience with these drugs. Regular exercise and meditation with strong will might be enough also.

Let him not attempt to stop gradually because the success rate of such attempts is neither permanent nor reliable. He needs to stop abruptly and imm...more
