R-Cinex 600 Tablet

This is a combination medication which has Rifampicin and Isoniazid as active ingredients. It belongs to the rifamycin group of antibiotics. This medication is used to treat numerous bacterial infections. It includes leprosy, tuberculosis and Legionnaire's disease. This medication by interfering and preventing the production of RNA by bacteria.

Common side effects of this drug include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and loss of appetite. It often turns the color of sweat, urine and tears red or orange. Liver problems or allergic reactions may also occur as side effects.

Isoniazid is an inactive compound which is known as a prodrug. It needs to be activated by the catalase of bacteria. Once Isoniazid has been activated it brings about inhibition of the synthesis of the mycoloic acids.
