To feel energetic and refreshed in life, you must exercise daily for at least 30 minutes, maintain your ideal body weight, follow a good diet, sleep properly, drink water throughout the day to keep your body hydrated, avoid alcohol and stop smoking. Whenever you feel weak, eat one or two bananas. You can also try a banana shake or smoothie. To help strengthen your body and keep from feeling weak, eat a ripe banana with one tablespoon of honey twice daily. Soak two almonds, one dried fig, and a few raisins in water overnight. In the morning, remove the almonds, figs and raisins and drink the water. Peel and eat the almonds, followed by the fig and raisins. Also, carry roasted almonds with you and whenever you feel fatigue or weak, eat some to get instant energy. Whenever you have weakness, drink a cup of warm milk with one teaspoon of honey mixed in it. You can also boil two to three figs in one cup of milk. Eat the boiled figs and drink the milk to gain strength. Alternatively, add one teaspoon of clarified butter to a glass of warm milk. Drink it twice daily to cure weakness caused by excessive loss of blood. Also known as amla, Indian gooseberry is a highly nutritious fruit that can improve your energy level. It is a good source of vitamin C, calcium, protein, irons, carbohydrates, and phosphorous. Simply eating one Indian gooseberry daily can strengthen a weak immune system.

Yes having barley does help, in the form of soups or kichidis or roti or gruel or salad etc. But having only barley doesn't help. Focus on your diet: you really need to focus on your diet. When losing weight, many people feel that it is okay to eat what you want and then workout a lot. This is completely incorrect. The secret behind getting fit lies 80 percent in your diet, while the rest 20 percent lies in working out. This is an integral part in losing weight at home and being able to sustain it. Good afternoon sir, I am 50 years old & since last 5 years I have been diagnosed as diabetic. But I have not started with medicines for it. Just with 6 kms brisk walking a day I was trying to control it. I am hypertensive also & for it I am on Telma 40H since last 5 years & B.P. Is, well controlled but unfortunately my post. Meal sugar is bit high always. Today I checked my post meal sugar it is 195 and creatinine is 1.2.I was advised to start with metformin 500 mg BD. Way back in 2012 apr. please advise me what should I do & is my creatinine level normal. Waiting for your reply.

Dear Lybrate User, I should appreciate you for the fact you believe that diabetes can be controlled by lifestyle modifications. Yes that's true, though it's not irreversible. Good that you have concentrated on physical activity , do concentrate on your diet as well. Make flaxseed, drumstick leaves, curry leaves powder and sprinkle 30 gm daily on all the foods you consume throughout the day. Also sprinkle wheat bran and germ daily 30gm throughout on all foods you consume. Consume lot of leeks and lettuce smoothie which is high in fibre content. Also you can consume raw lady's finger water soaked overnight for your diabetes condition.

In addition to a loss of appetite, it is common to experience nausea and vomiting after a traumatic injury. If these feelings are present, try these suggestions: Eat dry food in the morning, such as toast or crackers. Avoid taking medications on an empty stomach unless instructed to by your doctor/pharmacist/nurse. Avoid hot foods or foods with significant smells/odors if you are sensitive to the smell of foods. Eat smaller, frequent meals and snacks every 2-3 hours. Sit up for at least 30 minutes after eating. Eat slowly. Take sips of cold clear drinks like water, fruit juice, or sports drinks throughout the day. Stay on top of your bowel program to avoid constipation, which can worsen nausea. Avoid gas-forming foods like onions, cabbage, broccoli or dried beans.

Best time to have your breakfast is between 8-9 am. You can't be skipping your breakfast as this will become the 1st major meal of the day replenishing all the vital nutrients through out the body especially the brain which functions best on having it. Hello doctor! I am 22 years female. My weight is 69 kg. I am a student and my lifestyle is basically sedentary but I am trying to go for walk whenever possible. Your question is quite obvious dear, when we drink more water, definitely we need to flush it out right through urine, sweat. Following right time to drink water is important. Definitely our body needs to be replenished with water during thirst, dehydration. When you need to spend 2-3 hours at a stretch you need to limit water intake for example during exams, or some meeting etc. Inorder to manage that urine incontinence. Otherwise for every 20 kg body weight a person has to consume 1litre of fluid per day.

Dear Many people take body building or muscle mass building supplements these days to have an attractive physique in a short span of time. Testosterone, creatine, andro hormone supplements, glutamine supplements, fat burners are some of the popular bodybuilding supplements. Boosting the testosterone levels causes serious side effects like hair loss, breast enlargement in males (gynecomastia), prostate enlargement, acne, testicular atrophy and increased estrogen levels. Creatine is already present in our body therefore a healthy person does not require its additional dose. The excess of Creatine in our body can cause many side effects.
