Headache - Can Bad Eating Habit Cause It?

Headache is one of the most common maladies which refers to a pain sensation in the head. It may itself be an ailment or may be the symptom of any other illness. Headaches can last for a short time or may persist up to several weeks depending on its cause or type. Many reasons can trigger headache.

The following are eight reasons why you might get that headache

  1. StressPhysical stress or emotional stress can be identified as one of the most common causes for your headache. Tension, anxiety and depression may trigger a headache. This is also known as tension headache. In this condition, the muscles of your scalp, neck, face and jaw tighten, thus causing pain. Fatigue may also lead to this type of headache.
  2. Eye problems: Sometimes eye problems may be the cause of your headache. Diseases such as glaucoma can cause headache. Straining your eyes for seeing distant objects or glaring at your computer screen for long can also result in headache.
  3. Eating and sleeping pattern: Change in eating and sleeping pattern can also cause headache. Inadequate sleep or caffeine withdrawal can give you terrible headache sometimes.
  4. Ear, nose or throat disorders: Ear, nose or throat problems can also give rise to headache. Sinus caused by cold or infection, tonsillitis or throat infections can also prompt a headache.
  5. Medication: Excessive use of medication can be a factor responsible for your headache. This is also known as rebound headache.
  6. Dental problems: Jaw or dental problems sometimes may trigger a mild headache which can turn severe also. The alignment of lower and upper jaw, tooth decay may be some of the causes for headache.
  7. Hormonal problems: Sometimes a decline of your estrogen levels can also be a reason for your headache.
  8. Bad posture: Sometimes, poor posture may strain the muscles of your back and neck, triggering a headache.

Headache can be very annoying. Sometimes pain relief medicines help in controlling headache, but consuming them regularly may affect your health.

Immune System - 5 Steps That Can Help You Build Your Immune System!

Immune System - 5 Steps That Can Help You Build Your Immune System!

The immune system of the body essentially plays two important roles. Firstly, it protects the body from bacteria, viruses and other foreign organisms, thus preventing the onset of infections and diseases. Secondly, it ensures that body cells are functioning properly and are not degenerating. Thus, the immune system of the body is quite effective and is responsible for your overall health.

There are times when the immune system becomes weak and is thus unable to fight foreign organisms invading the body. A direct indication that your immune system is weak is when you catch the seasonal cold or flu. In such a case, you have to take certain steps to give a boost to your immune system, such as-

  1. Live healthy: Living healthy does not only include eating a balanced diet and exercising regularly. Make sure that you get enough sleep on a daily basis and avoid smoking along with consumption of alcohol. It is also essential that you maintain your weight and keep a tab on your blood pressure.

  2. Maintain good hygiene: Hygienic habits such as washing hands before every meal and after using the toilet go a long way when it comes to boosting the immune system.

  3. Reduce sugar intake: As per research, it becomes more difficult for white blood cells to fight bacteria when the sugar level of the body is very high, which is why the immune system gets surpassed, and you are more susceptible to infections.

  4. Consume healthy fats: Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids play an important role in boosting the immune system. These healthy fats help the immune system to make prostaglandins, which effectively destroy germs and viruses that have invaded the body.

  5. Avoid the consumption of toxic food: As far as possible, make sure that you are consuming organic food. This is because food grown on a commercial scale is full of toxic chemicals from the pesticides, insecticides, preservatives and artificial colours added to it. The toxic chemicals have a grave impact on the immune system of the body, which can lead to severe complications in the long run.

Although, you want your immune system to be strong and effective, make sure that it is not highly overactive. A highly overactive immune system can also lead to many health complications, such as the onset of autoimmune conditions. All in all, make sure that you are leading a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

Left ventricular ejection fraction 30 percent means your heart is working at lower reserve. Some will get improvement over time with medical management over 3-6 months. In this situation treatment should be supervised by cardiologist as it needs further evaluation like angio.

Also can you suggest me some exercises to get over it? Also my neck makes cracking sound when I rotate it, not always but sometimes. Is it fine?

Simple exercise is to walk daily which resets your back and neck muscles. Daily walk for 30 to 45 minutes. Once you become active your muscles relax and your problem will be diminished.

Dear sir/madam,
how to cure/reverse autoimmune disease, what precautions I follow?
Auto immune diseases tend to be chronic with ups and downs during the course of the problem. There are so many such diseases each one affecteing one particular organ more than the other. Before labelling it as autoimmune detailed work up to be done and proper diagnosis to be confirmed to get appropriate treatment.

First of all your initial symptoms of cough needs to be diagnosed properly. Mainly whether it is allergic bronchitis or some thing else (like Tuberculosis). When your symptoms got better you sgould not loose weight. If weight loss is correct then you need to get tested accordingly.

I am suffering from breathing problem, feeling like I am not getting enough breath for last 2 weeks. I am having b12 deficiency and vitamin d deficiency also. Is b12 deficiency the reason for breath problem, if not what is the problem?

MBBS, Diploma in Child Health (DCH), MD Internal Medicine
General Physician, Visakhapatnam
B12 deficiency can not be related to your breathing problem. Check your hemoglobin. Vitamin d deficiency will not cause breathing problem. You may be having too many worries and tensed up which will cause the problem similar to your symptoms. Think over for any issues causing worries and address them. If no such issues, contact me.
