Scoliosis is a condition where the individual has a curved spine. As a result of this lateral curvature in the spine, one could have posture issues. Such patients are known to suffer from problems of an uneven shoulder posture, uneven waistline because of this twist and also they tend to lean more on one side or keep twitching due to this. Prominent shoulder blade is also a symptom of Scoliosis.
HOW IS SCOLIOSIS DIAGNOSED?
A General Physician/Orthopedic diagnoses Scoliosis by conducting a physical examination and imaging tests such as MRI, CT scan and Bone scan to determine the cause of Scoliosis.
HOW IS SCOLIOSIS TREATED?
Treatment of this problem is usually done using braces. Such braces help in aligning the spine to a straighter line. In children below 2 years, doing so helps in faster alignment fixing. There are various surgical procedures used here to like spinal fusion that provides more accurate results.
