Achilles tendon injuries also known as Achilles tendon tear is the snapping or pulling apart the tendon into two pieces. The tendon is at the back of the heel which can be ruptured by sudden force on the foot. The person will not be able to stand on tiptoe and will have to walk flat footed. The person has pain along the back of the foot while stretching ankle or standing on toes. This pain may is mild and may worsen gradually. Along with the pain there would be tenderness, swelling, stiffness, hearing a snapping or popping sound and difficulty in moving the foot.
