At the creatinine level of 7 you have severe kidneys damage. I don't think u are in the stage of precautions. Consult nephrologist and diabetologist.

I am 53 years having diabetic using insulin whats the dose wosulin30/50 workdart with pen Fast 132 post lunch 183 medication glimisave maxforte 3 mg 1-0-1 glaritus insulin 100iu 40 units at night Wosulin 30/50.

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology
Endocrinologist, Hubli-Dharwad
Hello, It is difficult give the dosage based on the information given. If you are on Glargine 40 units at night, then oral antidiabetes drugs plus another combination like Wosulin 30/70 (it is 30 /70 not 30/50), it is a bit odd. Because you are already on a long acting compound. So ideally there should be a short acting one to check post breakfast and post lunch surge. Another aspect the mentioned glucose levels are not too high, therefore Glargine and oral drugs should be enough to give a better control Ideally fasting target should be closer to 100 mg & PP 150 to 160 mg. Plus HbA1c% <6.8. Thanks.

Recently I have tested my uric acid level. Which measures 8.1.what vegetables or food should I avoid and whether should I take medicine?

Practical Course in Diabetology, POST GRADUATE COURSE IN DIABETOLOGY, MBBS
Endocrinologist, Srinagar
It can be controlled by medicine only because all pulses, number of vegetables and all non veg except eggs contain purines which produce uric acid.

I am 48 years old, I am suffering from diabetic, have frozen shoulder problem, what is the reason and how to cure? Please help me.

MBBS, AFIH, PGDMLS, MD-HRM, MD-HM
General Physician, Gurgaon
Frozen shoulder is known complication of uncontrolled diabertes. Regular exercise is the only solution to avoid . Frozen shoulder is damage and stiffness of the capsule of joint and losing its softness. The supporting ligaments gets harder and harder day by day causing pain while attempting any movement, hence slow and steady physiotherapy under medication of anti-inflammatory tablets like flexon, combiflam etc and good sugar control is the only way out.

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Your query is very nonspecific, therefore it is very difficult to give any opinion. You should have given following details to understand the situation clearly: Fasting, PP glucose levels, HbA1c%, TSH, T3 & T4. Plus her weight, height, dietary pattern and extent of daily exercise. So if you want a clear guidance please come back with these details. Thanks.

What is the background defect of type 2 diabetic. Why it is not curable? is it not due to improper concept about diabetic state? what a poor state of medical research? why don't you research in integrated way with pharmacy specialist doing research in drugs?

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology
Endocrinologist, Hubli-Dharwad
I am only a clinician, can help people to control their disease. Research in this field is going on since ages, but there's no cure in site. Diabetes particularly t2 occurs because of either defect in insulin secretion or insulin resistance or both. Increased body weight, inactivity, junk foods. And migration are contributing to the alarming increase in incidence. Because of increased blood glucose and fats insulin producing cells are damaged. This leads to diabetes. One can prevent it by weight control, exercise and balanced diet.

Hello, Decision of taking medications or not should be a specialist doctors opinion. Do consult the doctor. Avoid refined carbohydrates like maida, bakery products, white pasta, sweets and excess salt. Walking or brisk walking is extremely important. Monitoring of blood sugar levels everyday is must.

Hi walking for minimum 45 minutes a day + strict diet control can reduce your blood sugar if you can share your (a) fasting glucose (b) post prandial glucose (c) hba1c (d) blood urea (e) serum creatinine (f) lipid profile reports at lybrate. Com/bruno I can tailor make the prescription (exercise schedule + diet chart + drugs) for you also mention your (a) age (b) weight (c) height (d) whether you take non vegetarian food.
