Health benefits of pickles
Free radical scavenging from antioxidants: pickles can be good source of antioxidants, especially decalepis hamiltonii or swallow root. As the vegetables or unripe fruits are stored fresh without cooking, the antioxidants present in those vegetables or unripe fruits are preserved as it is. Antioxidants are those micronutrients that help in protecting our body against the attacks of free radicals. Free radicals are unstable chemicals that are produced during cellular metabolism. These unstable chemicals react with our cells and damage our dna to become unstable and in the process, create more and more free radicals. We can protect ourselves from free radical attacks by consuming food with high antioxidants. A lot of emphasis these days is put on antioxidants by dieticians and doctors.
Supply of probiotic or gut-friendly bacteria: probiotic bacteria are those friendly bacteria that are present in our digestive system. These bacteria actually help us in the digestion of food. Sometimes, due to the use of antibiotics, along with invading bacteria, these friendly bacteria are also killed. Reduces ulcers: ulcers are internal wounds caused due to a failure of mucus membranes and acid interaction on tissues. Particularly, gastric ulcers are caused by a weakening of mucous membrane and hyperacidity. Regular consumption of amla or indian gooseberry pickles also help in reducing ulcers, if any.

Hi, I am 35 years old male. I go for jogging everyday and run for 3 to 4 kilometers and do some push ups around 100 to 200 everyday after running. Over the last couple of weeks I am not able to sleep properly. My sleep has become very restless and it breaks very easily. I struggle to feel sleepy. If I go to bed at 10pm I am able to sleep at 1pm so have to struggle from 10pm till 1am to sleep. There have been couple of days in between when I was not able to sleep for the whole night. I have started running/ jogging 2 months ago. Before that I was able to sleep properly and on time. I am an athlete and have won medals in 400 meters hurdles in college days. Earlier also I used to start running after 8 or 9 months of intervals however never faced such a situation. Actually I hv to wake up early around 6am in the morning to leave for office. I am afraid if I will hv to leave running and jogging. Please guide me what shall I do to improve my sleep.
