In winters, our skin becomes dry and flaky. The best way to combat this dryness is by following some simple skin care routines.

1) Use only lukewarm water for washing your face or bathing. Hot water will lead to more dryness.

2) Use a liberal/generous amount of oil or moisturiser on your body, hands and feet after taking bath.

3) Use a soap free face wash twice a day.

4) Use a sunscreen with SPF 30-50, 3-4 times a day, even if it's cloudy or you are spending more time indoors.

5) Drink at least 2 bottles of water daily.

6) Have a balanced diet comprising of fruits, vegetables, nuts, pulses and curd.

7) Avoid long showers..the more time you spend under the shower, the dryer your skin will become.

8) Avoid oily, fried food such as samosas, pakoras, burgers, pizza and fries.

9) Keep regular hours with at least 8 hours of sleep

10) Exercise regularly
