Losing weight at times is tedious and results can take a long to appear. Instead of losing weight, a few people lose confidence and determination and quit the weight loss regime out of lack of motivation. Thankfully, Ayurveda has an answer for weight loss and you will for sure enjoy standing on the weighing scale and get astonished at the results after following quite a few of them.

But again, you need to stick to the rules to see effective results. Kapha dosha is responsible for excessive weight as per Ayurveda. While there can be other reasons too, kapha plays a vital role in excessive weight gain. In fact, it works both ways - an imbalance in kapha can lead to obesity and excess weight can lead to elevated kapha. Ayurveda suggests swearing by the following remedies to see effective weight loss results:

Twice a day meals: consuming a healthy and balanced diet twice a day is the key to lose weight. While taking in portions is recommended by various weight loss regimens, Ayurveda has a different opinion. The digestive fire needs fuel, which is food. Taking smaller portions means that the fire will be kept burning often. With eating a healthy and satisfying diet just twice a day, metabolism remains at a tight pace. Eating too little or too much can only result in gaining excessive weight.

Eat right: usually, our breakfast timings might be anytime between 5 am and noon, but our digestive process is at its peak in the noon. So, make lunch a bigger meal as compared to breakfast and dinner. It is best to eat lunch between 11 am to 2 pm. The increased capacity of the digestive system ensures that the food is completely digested. Digestion-related problems may lead to weight gain. When you eliminate these problems, you are keeping off a major hurdle from your weight loss journey. Your dinner should be the lightest meal of the day. Do not skip dinner. Your system will be starving until the next morning if you do so. This will only hinder weight loss. Finish your breakfast before 7 pm or 8 pm at the maximum. Eating should be carried out in a calm environment. You should not chat or watch tv while eating. In short, your body and mind should concentrate completely on the food. Eat the foods that are suitable for the season. Eating foods that are available locally is even better. Nature has a reason to grow certain fruits and vegetables only in specific regions. When you reside at a place, the climatic condition and foods are all related to the region. These offer more benefits than imported foods. Ayurveda believes that six different tastes must be taken through food. Foods that taste sweet, sour, salt, bitter, astringent, and pungent should be a part of the meal. This is insisted for the overall well-being of an individual, apart from weight loss.

Drink warm water: drink warm water as the first thing in the morning every day. This helps in eliminating toxins. Even taking warm water through the day can help in losing weight faster.
Be an early bird: to ensure that there is no hormone imbalance, listening to the natural diurnal clock is mandatory. This helps in stimulating hunger at the right hours. Go to bed around 10 pm, and wake up before 6 am. But make sure to have your dinner at least two hours before sleep time and restrict screen time before hitting the bed. A stress-free and relaxed lifestyle are what you need to follow to stay fit and healthy and to lose weight.
