Homeopathy has very good reputation in treating all types of diarrheas. It can be life saving medicine. It has proved beneficial in allergic, viral, bacterial and all other causative diarrheas. Conventional / Allopathic Treatment of Diarrhea

If diarrhea is caused by bacteria or parasite, antibiotics are prescribed. Among the medications sometimes given for the symptom are Pepto-Bismol, Kaopectate, and Imodium A-D, all in tablet or liquid form.

Diagnosis of Diarrhea

Diagnosis of diarrhea includes the complete physical examination of the abdomen. Your doctor may ask about any medications you’re taking, including over-the-counter drugs. The following tests are done:

Blood test – A complete blood count test may help determine what’s causing your diarrhea.
Stool test – Your doctor may recommend a stool test to determine whether a bacterium or parasite is causing your diarrhea.

Wash your hands after using the toilet and changing diapers
Wash your hands after handling raw meat, seafood, or poultry
Do not drink unpasteurized milk
