Tobacco - Why Is It Harmful For Your Body?

It is the plant which belongs to nightshade family and is mostly found in North and South America. The dried leaves of this plant are smoked in cigars, pipes and in cigarettes. The leaves are also chewed by many people across the world or inhaled through the nose. It contains a special type of addictive chemical known by the name of Nicotine. Because of this chemical, most of the people find it difficult to leave this product. This plant due to the chemical Nicotine is not good for the health and consumers face many ill effects after consuming this product.

Tobacco is not good for the body as the leaves affect many body organs namely

  1. Brain: 
    1. Special chemical found in tobacco makes you addictive. It directly enters into the brain.
    2. It will make you anxious and depressed after smoking.
    3. It is also responsible for causing headaches
  2. Lungs: 
    1. Smoking of tobacco creates breathing problems by affecting the lungs directly.
    2. Sometimes it causes cough problems as well.
    3. Because of smoking most of the people are diagnosed with lung cancer or other lung diseases.
  3. Mouth: 
    1. It gives you bad breath along with staining your teeth
    2. It removes taste buds from your tongue and you will not like to eat anything; even your favourite food.
    3. It causes gum diseases along with mouth and throat cancer
  4. Skin
    1. It makes your skin dry and yellow
    2. It causes wrinkles on your face
    3. Shows dullness on your skin at a very young age
  5. Bones and muscles
    1. Flow of blood and oxygen is slow in the body
    2. You feel tired and lazy all the time
    3. It will not help in the development of muscles
    4. Makes you inactive and you will avoid doing work.
  6. Heart
    1. It increases the blood pressure and heart rate which are further responsible for causing heart attacks or other heart problems
    2. The heart has to work harder in such cases where people are going for workouts or exercises.

These are not the only bad effects of consuming tobacco. There are many more to it.
