Hello!

My name is Major Dr. Kartik Kohli. I’m Ex- Army Officer I retired from army in 2012.

Today I'll be talking about exercise. Now being an army officer, that gives me a slightly better idea how to exercise how to give you inputs about it, but what I’m not happy about it is General Indian population or lack of exercise in our lives we as a nation or A let me say, let me be very blunt we are lazy we don’t take care of our lives we don’t take care of our bodies . Our bodies should be our temples which we should respect but we don’t do that so let me talk to you as a friend , let me not over indulge myself by quantifying myself as know at all let me just be a friend to you so, how do we exercise we don't exercise by you know running marathon so by day one we exercise by taking small steps we exercise by challenging ourselves to our next competition which we have with ourselves we don’t need to compete with Olympians we are not Olympians , nobody is Olympian by birth we have to challenge ourselves by taking very small steps let say from week one , we run , we walk rather then run let us walk , Let us walk 100 meters , week 2 walk 200 meters every day . Week 3 we walk 400 meters, so we progressively increase our challenges. And these challenges are towards our selves. so we have to been responsible for what challenges that we presume to be have , for what now there’s lot of talk regarding weight loss and everything so and so forth but weight loss and healthiness are not related , let us be very frank . Weight is not related to health. I’ll say that because what i feel is its body shaping. I don’t want to body shaping anyone you have to be comfortable with what you are because more importantly then your physical health , let your mental health. exercise gives you a lot of reasons to be happy let us not kill ourselves ok, People are fat so on so Forth but it’s also important to be happy. happiness comes from exercise from feeling healthy that feeling of healthiness is the most important thing for example when we exercise kidneys produce chemical known as endorphin and endorphin makes you happy , it causes the feeling of happiness now the important point is how much you are willing to push it’s not good for you body to push a 100 meters in the first day no its not you will end up hurting yourself you will end up harming yourself, take it slow not Everyone can be Usain Bolt lets us take it slow let us take it one step at a time, let us not body shame ourselves to the extent that we have a sense of Inclusiveness that we can’t get out of what we need is happiness for that I’ll urge you to exercise.
