Navratri Diet Plan!

Navratri is the festival in which the people fast and worship Goddess Durga. The Goddess Durga along with her nine forms are worshiped during the Navaratri. Navratri is made from two words: nav meaning nine and ratri meaning night. It is one of the most famous religious festivals of the Hindus. In different states, different types of celebration will be there. In some states, Durga puja is celebrated in which the statue of Goddess Durga is made whereas in some states garba and dandiya are performed. People show their devotion to the goddess Durga by playing garba and dandiya. Navratri exists for the ten days accompanied by the nine nights. People also show their devotion by having a fast and worshiping the Goddess Durga. During Navratri you can only eat specific food items. You should eat only those foods which are considered saatwik. A proper diet should be made for Navratri.

Navratri Diet Plan

You must eat only food which gives energy to your body and keeps you healthy in the long run. Some of the things that can be eaten during Navratri are boiled potatoes, fruits, sabudana ki khichdi etc. The people who are fasting for the nine days are required to maintain a proper diet for Navratri. If they will not maintain a proper diet, they will feel weak, unconscious and also they won't be able to complete their fast. That's why a proper diet is to be maintained for Navratri. The diet chart should be made according to the nine different days. 

On the first day of Navratri

For breakfast, you can take milk, fruits, soaked nuts, fruit made smoothies, almond milk shakes etc. Then at lunch, you can go for the amaranth or kuttu ki roti along with lauki ki sabzi. At dinner, you can go for sabudane ki khichdi and curd.

On the second day of Navratri

For breakfast, you can take kuttu ke paneer ka chilla along with the curd or the boiled potato chaat. You can also take the banana or lassi or baked sabudana. Then at lunch, you can eat cucumber salad along with baked sago tikki or you can also take boiled potatoes along with the curd. At dinner, paneer which is grilled can be eaten along with the mint chutney.

On the third day of Navratri

For breakfast, kuttu ka dosa can be eaten or makhane ki  kheer can also be taken. During lunch, raita made up of jeera along with the rice can be eaten or boiled aloo ki sabzi with singhare ki roti can also be eaten. Then, at night milk can be taken in order to maintain a proper diet.

On the fourth day of Navratri

In the morning, you can take a smoothie made up of fruits along with the almonds. During lunch, you can take walnuts along with the sweet potato chaats. Then, at dinner, pumpkin soup can be taken.

On the fifth day of the Navaratri

For breakfast, you can take yogurt curry along with raw bananas. For lunch, idli of rice with potatoes can be taken. At the time of dinner, curd can be taken. Along with this, baked cutlets of sweet potato can also be eaten.

On the sixth day of Navratri

In the morning, khichdi made of sago vegetables can be eaten. During lunch, kuttu ke aate ki roti along with vegetables or dahi can be eaten. At dinner, chilla made up of paneer can be eaten in order to maintain a proper diet.

On the seventh day of Navratri

In the morning, makhane ki khichdi can be eaten. During lunch time, curd along with samak polenta can be eaten. At dinner, paneer tikka can be taken.

On the eight day of Navratri

For breakfast, kheer made of lauki can be eaten. Then in the lunch , singhare ki roti along with the boiled potato ki sabzi accompanied by salad can be taken. At dinner, raita or cucumber along with roti rajgira can be eaten. 

On the ninth day of Navratri

This is the last day of Navratri. In the morning of the ninth day of Navaratri, shakes of apples and bananas can be taken. In the afternoon, makhana along with chat of aloo can be eaten. At dinner, rice with peanuts along with samak can be taken.
