Hair fall is influenced by a number of factors including a poor diet, unhealthy lifestyle, poor circulations, stress etc. Hence the best way to treat this condition is not with topical products but by attacking the root cause  and living a healthier lifestyle. Here are some things you could do to prevent hair fall.

1. Have a well-balanced diet

Your diet plays a crucial role in keeping your hair healthy. When your body faces a deficiency of a certain nutrients they are taken away from hair and diverted to other organs. Hence, hair are the first to see the effects of nutritional deficiencies. Hair are primarily made up of protein and hence a deficiency of protein can cause breakage and hair fall. Along with proteins, one must also include plenty of vitamins B and C, zinc, copper and iron in our daily diet. This nourishes the hair and strengthens it.

2. Drink plenty of water

Biotin is one of the most important vitamins responsible for healthy hair. This vitamin is water soluble and hence in order for it to be well absorbed by the body, you must drink plenty of water.

3. Massage your scalp

An oil massage can do wonders for your scalp. It not only keeps the scalp from drying out, but also improves blood circulation. Improved blood circulation helps increase the oxygen count in blood and ensures that nutrients reach your hair roots.

4. Fight stress

Stress is one of the leading cause of premature greying and hair loss. Stress can affect hair loss both directly and indirectly. By disrupting the hair growth cycle it can cause excessive hair fall. It can also reduce your appetite and hence keep you from getting the nutrition necessary for healthy hair. Thus, it is important for you to find a way to deal with stress effectively. Meditation and regular exercise are great ways to beat stress.

5. Get a good night’s sleep

Hair are very sensitive to physiological and emotional changes such as a weakened immune system, hormonal imbalances, physical and mental stamina etc. Not getting adequate sleep can affect all these factors and hence indirectly harm your hair. Poor quality sleep also increases the effects of stress on the body. Hence pay attention to how much sleep you are getting. Create a routine and go to sleep and wake up at the same time every day. Darkening your room and abstaining from watching television or working on your laptop before you go to bed can also make it easier for you to fall asleep.
