Know More About Ear Discharge
Hello, myself Dr Vivek Kumar Pathak MBBS and ENT. Today I am going to talk to you regarding discharge from the ear, discharge from the ear can be categorised depending upon the duration, it can be acute or it can be chronic. So acute discharge if it is less than 6 weeks or is more than 6 weeks to 6 months it is sub-acute or if it is more than 6 months then it is chronic. So for acute discharge, we give antibiotic ear drops to let the air dry and for chronic discharge, if the patient is having chronic supportive i.e. Media otitis discharge. Then we have to depend upon whether it is a safe type or unsafe type. For safe type, we have to make the ear dry and after that, we can go for surgery. It is called as by Rinoplasti regarding unsafe CSM If the patient is having discharge then we have to go for melted aspiration surgery regarding the ear discharge, there are various causes for that. So the precautions we have to take prevent the entry of water especially if you are taking bath in a river, so you have to keep a cotton outside so that water doesn't enter if you have discharge don't worry, you have to come and composed and take a precaution and medication that we have to prescribe.
