Ketogenic Diet Health Feed

Hello doctor, I had been on keto (low carb diet) for a period of 2 weeks and my food choices were mostly limited to (chicken, eggs, mushroom, broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, buttermilk, sea food). In a week or so, I starting experiencing stomach cramps. It usually started as a discomfort after I had my meal and advanced with time. The pain became intense at night that i'd have to curl up and lie in my bed. And the next morning it's fine, until I have my first meal of the day. I've been experiencing these cramps on a day to day basis. Due to the same reason I stopped keto and switched to normal diet. Kindly advice.

Keto diet should be used in guidance of qualified dietitian under constant supervision. Everyone has a different body type. Maybe these food types create allergies to your body. Eat a balanced diet so that you can lose weight in a healthy way without harming the body.

No it's not good. U r unnecessarily putting weight on your already strained knee joints. Also following leto diet results in deficiency diseases. Lose weight in a healthy way. First of all you should change your eating habits like 1. Don't take tea empty stomach. Eat something like a banana (if you are not diabetic) or any seasonal fruit or soaked almonds and a glass of water first thing in the morning (within 10 mins of waking up). No only biscuits or rusk will not do. 2. Don't overeat 3. Take your breakfast every day. Don't skip it. U can eat whatever your mother or grandparent eat in bfast. I mean to say whatever is your traditional food. If punjabi eat paratha, if belongs to south then take idli/ dosa etc. 4. Have light meals every 2 hours (in addition to your breakfast, lunch n dinner) e.g. Nariyal paani, chaach, a handful of dry fruits, a handful of peanuts, seasonal fruit, a cup of curd/milk etc 5. Finish your dinner at least 2 hours before going to sleep. 6. Avoid fast foods n fried foods7.take a lot of green vegetables n fruit. 8. Drink lot of water9. Everyday preferably sleep on same time 10. Maintain active life style exercise in the form of yoga, cycling, swimming, gymming etc. Now about point no. 10. You should join a gym for weight training. Do it 2-3 times a week with at least 48 hours in between 2 sessions. On other days you can do cardio exercises. Till lock down do suryanamaskar. Be for more details you can consult me.

Please don't go with keto diet as in the age 40 women's tend to have athritis or bone problem. Go with proper weight reducing program which will help you.

A ketogenic diet, broadly known as the keto diet is popularly known for being a low carb diet, as the body produces ketones in the liver that is used as energy. When we consume something that contains a high ratio of carbs, our body automatically produces glucose and insulin. Glucose is considered to be the easiest molecule for our body to transform and use as energy, thus it can be used as over any other energy source. On the other hand, insulin is manufactured in our body to carry the glucose that is present in our bloodstream to take it all around the body to create maximum energy.

As glucose is generally being used as the main source of primary energy, our fat amount in our body is not required for and thus it is stored. Disadvantages of Ketogenic Diet:

This means you might have seizures and convulsions despite taking anti-seizure medications. What is a keto diet?

Pcod/pcos is a common hormonal disorder in women which can lead to weight gain and irregular periods. While most women depend on pills to deal with it, these simple changes in your lifestyle will help you deal with the condition in a better way. 1. Nutritional approach: deficiency of micronutrients contributes to insulin insensitivity and compromise ovarian function. So, •completely stay away from processed/ refined cereals (which have a high glycemic index or gi). Switch to wheat, rice, jowar, ragi, barley (which have low gi) and enjoy your roti, parantha, pulao, biryani, dosa, poha, upma etc. •eat an adequate amount of lean proteins like dal, milk, eggs, fish, yogurt, cheese, paneer, lassi, sprouted legumes. •include good sources of omega-3 and omega-6 present in nuts, seeds, ghee, olives, coconut etc. Our body needs essential fatty acids for absorption of fat soluble vitamins like a, d, and e. •alpha-lipoic acid improves glucose uptake in cells, promotes weight loss and improves the health of ovaries.
