Joints are a vital supporting point for your body because it helps to move or bend your other body parts like elbows, knees, back, and hip which is very crucial to perform our daily task. It helps improve our mobility and keeps us active for the whole day.

It is advised by orthopaedics to take extra care of your joints. If you don't take proper care of your bones, you may face several health problems as you grow old. As a result, you will find it very difficult to do your daily routine work.

There is a lubricant in your joints, which helps to hold your joints together, and it also avoids the bones from rubbing each other. Medically, it is termed as synovial fluid. Due to various reasons like lack of proper nutrition and wrong body movements, the level of this fluid is affected, thereby causing multiple health problems. You should take utmost care of your joints to have a healthy lifestyle.

Few guidelines are given by orthopaedics to take care of your bones.

  1. Ensure proper nutrition: Proper nutrition is the key to overall health. Healthy fats help to retain the lubrication in your joints. Apart from this, they also help in increasing the count of cell membranes, which plays a vital role in building molecules. Source of these omega 3 fats are walnuts, chia seeds, flax seeds and pecans. Also, ensure that your diet includes rich sources of vitamin D and calcium. Calcium is an essential nutrient, which helps in strengthening the bones and muscles. To receive enough calcium every day, you should take sufficient amount of vitamin D which aids in calcium absorption. Ensure that your daily diet includes figs, yoghurt, broccoli, kale and almonds, which are rich in calcium.
  2. Avoid idleness for long hours: To have a healthy joint, you need be active. Make sure that you change your body positions often like if you are watching a TV or reading a book, keep improving your position while you are idle. Also if your work requires you to sit in the same place for long hours, you can take some short breaks frequently. By this way, you can avoid the stiffness and pain in your legs.
  3. Maintain body posture: You should also take care of your position while lifting weights, at the time of walking and sitting. For instance, while you are carrying some weight, ensure that you do not bend your back; instead, you can move them by bending your knees. You should also sit straight while being idle. This not only protects your knees but also takes care of your hip joints.
  4. Practice exercise and rigorous workouts: Exercise helps you to stay fit by losing unwanted weight. It also benefits you by avoiding joint pains because being obese puts more pressure on your knee joint, which gets damaged as we grow old. Apart from that, it also lets your bones gain flexibility. Keeping your weight under a healthy range will be the grand thing which you can do for your joints.
