Infertility
Hello! I am Dr. Yogesh Trivedi, a Gynaecologist based in Mumbai. Today, I will talk about infertility. Failure to conceive for more than 12 months and with unprotected intercourse is called Infertility.
What are its causes?
1st is male and 2nd is female factor. In females, problem can be because of ovulatory dysfunction. In this female has irregular menses. The common cause is the PCOS. 2nd is the blockage of fallopian tubes. 3rd is infection in uterus or TB. In males, cause can be sperm count and if the motility level is low. In females, we do the hormonal investigation and AMH. In males, we do the semen analysis. If investigations are normal then we suggest the patient to go for the normal treatment for 2-3 months.
2nd treatment is with the natural conception, follicular study and medications. If that is also not successful then we go for the 3rd treatment which is Hysterolaparoscopy. 4th treatment is with IUI. Then the last step is IVF. IVF is so much successful that we can give the high pregnancy rates. Avoid stress. Avoid junk food and live healthy lifestyle.
