Hair loss treatments-

Hello, I’m Dr Ashit Gupta. I’m the medical director at hair transplant, plastic and cosmetic surgeon at Delight Clinic Gurgaon. We are dealing mainly with the hair loss treatments and hair transplants. Depending on the grade of the problem of the patient we divide the problem into three grades.

• Grade one is mild thinning of hair in generally we manage the patient with only medical treatments.
• Grade two is moderate thinning, moderate hair loss in which we give medical treatments plus we suggest just PRP  litra-rich plasma. These are injections in which we harvest platelets and plasma from the blood and inject back into the scalp.
• In the third stage when there is severe baldness and there is severe loss of hair from the head we advise hair transplant which is a one-time permanent solution to the problem. The hair which grows back is natural with zero side effect, scarring is minimum with the technique that we follow nowadays which is called the biased tumated FUE technique in which we use PRP along with the hair transplant. The result of the procedure generally takes 3 to 6 months to achieve and hair lasts forever. In the hair transplant, we harvest hair from the back and the side of the scalp and transplant into the front and the top areas of the scalp.

The hairs which are transplanted they remain permanent and they remain throughout life. There are two techniques of basically transplanting the hair from the back to the front.

One is the old technique which is called the FUT technique in which we used to harvest a strip of skin along with the hair.

The latest technique is called the FUE technique that is the follicular unit extraction, in which we harvest single follicles which generally contain two to three hairs. This technique the advantages are that there is minimal scarring, there is minimal pain, minimal discomfort and patient is very comfortable during and immediately after the procedure also. The down time is practically zero. Patient can resume his activities the same day or the day after.
