It's completely understandable to be worried about this situation. Leaving cotton in for 5 days after a tooth extraction can increase the risk of complications, so it's important to address it right away.
Here's what you need to do:
1. Contact your dentist as soon as possible: this is the most important step. Don't try to remove the cotton yourself, as this could further irritate the extraction site. Your dentist will be able to remove it safely and assess the condition of the wound.

this is normal. It takes upto a week for the extraction site to show primary healing. Ensure that you follow the precautions that your doctor suggested.

I have got my wisdom tooth extracted 1 month ago, the wound is healed now .i had swelling on my cheek which is gone now but there is a hard lump like thing left behind on my cheek near the jaw. The dentist said that they never seen such thing in their practice .what is this ?what should I do? The lump is hard and have small pain while touching.

We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need Coronoplasty (smoothen teeth edges) along with Multivitamin cap, for five days in the morning after meals & antiseptic ointment or gel

On 24th september (day before yesterday) my tooth extraction was done and they didn't stitch I did not ask why and today I find a white things spread over that area. I don't have pain. But i'm curious what's this.

Its scab which forms during initial wound healing process. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal to avoid food stagnation .

Maxillary teeth 28 extraction done on 7 june 2022, than after almost a month pain started and increased, on examination found bony spicule. 18 july 2022 done a procedure to remove a large spicule. Post operative had heavy swelling, swelling is more than normal as follow up suture removal day seen. After almost 13 days this time a large ulceration occurred at the wound area and another ulcer occurred below tongue. Bone pain still occurs at morning but slowly pain getting reduced. A very tiny ball like thing feeling still there but sharpe, edge like feeling gone. One of my friend who is also a plastic surgeon said my healing is slow but it's healing after listening my past condition and all these my query to doctors here is does it could take 1 to 3 months more.

Hi, my mother has got tooth extraction in previous week. Her 4 teeth got extracted .she want to fill the gap in between the teeth. And doctor told her that after 1.5 months they can fill the gap with artificial teeth as her gums area is not dried completely. But the problem is she have to attend wedding. Is there any solution for this. Please help.

No. Not exactly as any other prosthetic items laid on the gum area vl only affect healing. Doctor has sujjested the time which is absolutely right.

I had a upper molar extraction 3 weeks ago, now I am having pain in the region and when I touch the extracted teeth area I can feel some small swelling and slight white inside gum. Some of them feels like needle on touch. Pain also in the area where these weird things are. Gum also slight red at that area than rest of the other area. It causes pain mostly when I eat food or I do activities with mouth like talk. At night or morning there is no pain.

Don't worry its called dry socket. N it's quite normal with some patients after extraction. Plss visit your dentist who did your treatment and meanwhile plsss don't touch that area. He vl treat the condition and it will subside within a few weeks.

Health Query

I underwent a wisdom tooth extraction surgery with suturing 3 days ago. I am on enzoflam since then. But the pain is still the same. It subsides for 4 5 hrs and then a throbbed pain starts at the surgical site. I am doing betadine gargle thrice a day and on soft food since 2 days. Pls advice what can be done.

You need to visit the dentist again.
If pain don't go in 72 hrs then it is mandatory you visit the dentist again.
Dentist will put zinc oxide pack or alveogyl pack dressing.
For three sittings and few steriods tablets or antiinflammatory tablets for three more days depending what your dentist had given you before, during and after your tooth removal, then only your pain and discomfort will go.
