Does acv controls diabetes and weight? Please provide benefits and side effects of acv.
Thanks for the query. A lot of benefits are claimed about Apple Cider Vinegar. But all these are more claims, no specific clinical trials are there. You may try it if interested. As regards diabetes treatment it is only through appropriate modern medicines that it can be controlled. Plus diet restrictions and regular exercise with weight control. Other things may be just additional for mental satisfaction. Thanks.

Drink more water, high-carbohydrate foods such as potatoes, rice, pasta and bread. You can take Nutrient-rich foods that improve your health may also benefit your thyroid gland, antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables more plenty of water: Blueberries, tomatoes, bell peppers, and other foods rich in antioxidants can improve overall health and benefit the thyroid gland. Eating foods high in B vitamins, like whole grains, may also help. Selenium: Tiny amounts of selenium are needed for enzymes that make thyroid hormones to work properly. Eating selenium-rich foods, such as sunflower seeds or Brazil nuts, can be beneficial. Tyrosine: This amino acid is used by the thyroid gland to produce T3 and T4. Taking a supplement may help,

Dear lybrate user with the limited amount of information provided it appears that you are having sub clinical hypothyroid. If could had been better if you had provided us with your tsh levels along with date on which done and medication list. If this is your first report then will advise you to repeat serum tsh after 3 months and will then decide on the requirement of your medication. Hope this solves your query. Revert with details and reports.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. When blood glucose is not well controlled, there is a considerable loss of glucose through the urine as kidneys are unable to retain excess glucose that reaches there. Hence primary need is to achieve a strict blood glucose control with FBG < 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c% <6.8. That will help in rebuilding the muscle strength and overall weight. Apart from taking healthy diet, your protein intake should be a bit more with regular gym work. You can add 2 to 3 eggs a day. Thanks.

Does high sugar levels in diabetes above 300
is dangerous for diabetes patients
who is having alcohol regularly.?
High sugar level is dangerous for all patients, because it affects large and small blood vessels, eyes, heart, kidneys and nerves. Can also lead to ulcers in foot etc. If diabetes is uncontrolled one is inviting all kinds of complications. Alcohol on top of it is further problem as it affects liver too.

I am 45 years old have diabetic in random 106 and high blood pressure 130/90. What kind of fruit and food I eat?
For a diabetic it is best advised to have a diet planned as per the sugar levels, lifestyle and history. Though you can follow some guidelines - have small frequent meals. Do not fast for long hours. Avoid a very heavy meal at one time. Avoid fruit juices, aerated drinks or sugarcane juice, honey, jaggery or sugar. Avoid junk foods. Exercise and stay active. Do not attempt to try out too many remedies as you could go into hypoglycaemia. Sleep well. It's all a matter of discipline.

No diet can be devised till you treat the problems with meds. And once you begin your meds you have to just tweak with your food because reducing certain elements of food can cause distaste. Depression. Constipation acidity etc. So please take regular medicine and take normal home food.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Diabetes in general affects small (micro) blood vesses which supply retina, kidneys and penile muscle. This leads to erectile deficiency. This is one of the most common long term complication seen in diabetes whether T1 or T2. This happens even in patients who achieve very good control of blood glucose. If diabetes is uncontrolled then it can be still bad. Therefore, primary need is to achieve a strict glucose control and then take treatment for sexual problem. There is need for a through examination before any treatment is advised. To you may have to visit a competent sexologist in your area. Hanks.

Dear, psychiatric medications are not meant to get dependent on them. You may have got relief the first time in a month period and that is a good sign that your body had ability to recover fast. May be your anxiety was not complicated by factors which may be present now. This time if your anxiety is not getting controlled, its better either you visit another doctor or simply ask him to change medicines. If he doesn't do that, then its better you should try Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) this time. It is a form of psychotherapy and targets symptoms of anxiety very well. There are several techniques in this form of therapy and step by step, in a short period of time, you may easily regulate your symptoms. That means, CBT is a form of therapy which makes you the master of your symptoms, rather than medicines. Medicinal treatment assumes that all symptoms of anxiety (or any other disorder) are due to changes in brain chemistry but ignores several other psychological factors which can be dealt only with psychotherapy. Your psychiatrist has put you on medical treatment which is generally the first line treatment for any patient but good psychiatrists always ask to get psychotherapy too. Relapse of symptoms that has happened with you may be dealt better with CBT rather than medicines. This time you MUST consider taking CBT from a good psychotherapist. Psychotherapists are Clinical Psychologists who are trained to provide different forms of psychotherapy. As I can read here, you are able to realize that your palpitations are triggered by stress or other things. This awareness is sufficient to work on cognitive and behavioral aspects of your anxiety. If anxiety gets controlled by medicines, its good, but it is always recommended to take CBT.
