Low Testosterone Level

BHMS, DEMS
Homeopath, Pune
Low Testosterone Level

Testosterone is a hormone that is produced by the human body. It is mainly produced in the testicles in men. It stimulates sperm production and a man’s sex drive and also helps build muscle and bone mass. Testosterone production typically decreases as men age. Men can experience a range of symptoms if it decreases more than it should. Low t is diagnosed when levels fall below a normal range (300- 1000 ng/dl. A blood test (called serum testosterone level) is used to determine your level of circulating testosterone.

1. Low sex drive
Testosterone plays a key role in libido (sex drive) in both men and women. Men may experience some decline in sex drive as they age. However, someone with low t will likely experience a more drastic drop in his desire to have sex. Low t can also decrease the sex drive in women, along with other factors, such as other hormonal and mood changes.

2. Difficulty achieving erection
Testosterone stimulates a man’s sex drive — and it also aids in achieving an erection. Testosterone alone doesn’t cause an erection, but it stimulates receptors in the brain to produce nitric oxide — a molecule that helps trigger an erection. When testosterone levels are too low, a man may have difficulty achieving an erection prior to sex or experience spontaneous erections (for example, during sleep). Other health problems can influence erectile function, so it is important to determine whether low t is causing this symptom.

3. Low semen volume
Testosterone plays a role in the production of semen, which is the milky fluid that aids in the motility of sperm. It’s pretty simple: the more testosterone a man has, the more semen he produces. Men with low t will notice a decrease in the volume of their semen during ejaculation.

4. Hair loss
Testosterone plays a role in several body functions, including hair production. Balding is a natural part of aging for many men. However, men with low t may experience a loss of body and facial hair.

5. Fatigue & lack of energy
Men with low t have reported extreme fatigue and a noticeable decrease in energy levels. You might be experiencing symptoms of low t if you are tired all of the time, despite getting plenty of sleep, or if you are finding it harder to get motivated to hit the gym or exercise.

6. Loss of muscle mass
Because testosterone plays a role in the building and strengthening of muscle, men with low t might notice a decrease in both muscle mass and strength those who try to reverse the muscle loss through weight training might find it difficult to build or rebuild muscle.

8. Increase in body fat
Men with low t may also experience increases in body fat. In particular, they sometimes develop “gynecomastia”, a condition in which they develop enlarged breasts. Although the reasons behind this are not entirely clear, suggests that testosterone influences the way your body stores fat.

9. Mood changes
Testosterone influences many physical processes in the body. It can also influence mood and mental capacity. Research suggests that men with low t are more likely to experience depression, irritability, or a lack of focus.

Homeopathy is best treatment for who have low testosterone level. Take care. Have a good day.

You have to go for proper evaluation of ovarian reserve and chlymadia infection. If her cycle is regular, she may get pregnant. I need some of details of last ectopic pregnancy surgery then only I will help you more. There are lot of factors which effect fertility starting from age to surgery. How To Prevent Chronic Kidney Disease When You Have Diabetes?

How To Prevent Chronic Kidney Disease When You Have Diabetes?

According to the cleveland clinic foundation, diabetes is the cause of approximately 44% of all new cases of diabetic nephropathy. Nephropathy is a medical term for kidney disease. Diabetes can cause damage to the filters in your kidneys over time. As more damage occurs, chronic kidney disease (ckd) can develop. Ckd is a serious complication of diabetes. It cannot be cured, only managed. Getting an early diagnosis of nephropathy and treating your diabetes can help limit the kidney damage and may prevent kidney failure where dialysis becomes necessary.

An early diagnosis

An early diagnosis of diabetes can help your doctor treat the condition before it does more damage to your body. Type 1 diabetes (also known as juvenile or insulin dependent diabetes) is easily diagnosed in its early stages, before kidney damage occurs. However, type 2 diabetes (also known as adult-onset or non-insulin dependent diabetes) often goes undiagnosed for years. Many people who have type 2 diabetes do not realize it.

Because type 2 diabetes may have been present for many years before it is diagnosed, this means the high glucose (sugar) content in the blood has had time to damage the tiny blood vessels in the kidneys. When these blood vessels are damaged, protein that is meant to remain in the body can leak into the urine. This is a condition called microalbuminuria, and it is an early symptom of kidney disease.

If you have been diagnosed with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, you should have a microalbumin test done annually. This will help your doctor detect any kidney damage. If your urine tests positive for albumin (a protein), steps can be taken to help prevent more damage to your kidneys.

Control your blood glucose levels

Because the high glucose content in your bloodstream can damage the kidneys, controlling the level of glucose is an important step in keeping the kidneys healthy. This means following the plan your doctor recommends for treating your diabetes. For type 1 diabetics, getting regular insulin is crucial in keeping glucose levels in check. For type 2 diabetics, diet and exercise may be the primary treatments for lowering blood sugar levels.

Your doctor may have you test your glucose levels throughout the day. You may be referred to a dietitian, who can help you make healthier food choices. Lowering your intake of sugar is important, especially if you are insulin resistant. Your doctor may also want you to lose excess weight. Follow your doctor’s instructions regarding medicines and testing your glucose levels. If the levels are still too high, tell your doctor so adjustments can be made to your treatment program.

Control your blood pressure levels

If you are diabetic and have been diagnosed with high blood pressure (also known as hypertension), your kidneys have a greater chance of becoming damaged. Patients with high blood pressure and diabetes are more likely to develop nephropathy. This is because high blood pressure places added strain on the tiny blood vessels of the kidneys. Your doctor may prescribe a medicine called an ace inhibitor to bring down your blood pressure.

Even in diabetic patients who do not have high blood pressure, studies have shown that ace inhibitors are an effective treatment for kidney stone. Even though you may not have high blood pressure, your doctor may prescribe this medicine for you in order to prevent further strain to your kidneys. If you have any questions or concerns about any medicine that has been prescribed to you, talk with your doctor. Do not stop taking any medicine prescribed to you without talking to your doctor first.

Keep healthy habits

If you have been diagnosed with diabetes, your doctor may ask that you stop certain activities that could worsen your diabetes or lead to high blood pressure. Activities such as smoking and drinking alcohol should be avoided.

Exercise is an excellent habit. Your doctor may recommend exercise as part of your treatment. But before you start a program, ask your doctor if the activity may be right for you.

Summary

Diabetes does not necessarily have to lead to chronic kidney disease. An early diagnosis of kidney disease may help you and your health care team to prevent further damage. Keeping your diabetes in check may help keep your kidneys healthy for a long time.

Importance of Tracking Menstrual Cycle

MBBS, MS -Gynaecologist
IVF Specialist, Varanasi
Importance of Tracking Menstrual Cycle

With an upsurge in the number of women suffering from dysfunctional reproductive systems and a myriad of gynecological problems, resulting in irregular periods, infertility and several other complications, it is of paramount importance to keep a record of the dates and duration of your monthly cycles. This is not only useful for future reference when you visit a gynecologist, but it also helps you to understand if there are delays in period or excess of bleeding in any particular month.

Why is tracking your menstrual cycles important?

Keeping a track of the menstrual cycles is a mandatory exercise for women who are thinking about pregnancy or those trying to avoid it. It is advisable to abstain from intercourse for a few days before and after the period, which is the prime time for ovulation. Keeping track of your periods gives you a clear indicator of whether you have become pregnant because delay in the menstrual onset implies pregnancy. The reverse is also true; if you are trying to get pregnant, conception is usually fruitful on these days of maximum ovulation, which you can easily calculate based on your well maintained menstrual record.

How should you go about keeping track of your menstruation?

While it not possible to note down every possible aspect of the menstruation in a notebook, the easiest way of maintaining a planner is to mark the first day of each period on the calendar. The difference between two consecutive periods will give you your cycle lengths.

In addition you can choose to make a note of how heavy the bleeding is, or if there are changes in mood and appetite on those days. You will then be well prepared for your next visit to the gynecologist.
