Hello, Homeopathic remedies for asthma are very effective and can cure asthma permanently . Homeopathic medicines are natural medicines and work by moderating our immune system which usually becomes overreactive in asthma . But i need to know more symptoms related to you as a whole.so that i can make totality of symptoms and prescribe you a better medicine. in the mean time take Ars alb 30, 3 drops once daily and BC No. 02, 5 tabs thrice daily. Revert me with more symptoms.

I have COPD. No specific medicine has been recommended by the specialist except an inhaler Trio Mate (one dose daily). .For the rest I am practicing Pranayama and other breathing exercises, apart from daily long walks. Are there any medicines which help in strengthening the lungs. I have heard of Breathe Free by Organic India and some pack by Patanjali.

MBBS, DNB (Respiratory Diseases)
Pulmonologist, Mumbai
I have COPD. No specific medicine has been recommended by the specialist except an inhaler Trio Mate (one dose daily)...
Dear Mr. lybrate-user, COPD is chronic disease of the airways of your lung. The medications are added as per your lung functions and symptoms. You can discuss the appropriateness of the medications with your doctor. I am not an expert on ayurvedic medicines. Hence, I can not talk on those medicines. Pranayam and walking is a very good thing that you are doing. Most important thing is if you smoke then quit it. That will be the best thing for your lungs. All the best.

You should try 1) steam inhalation 2-3 times a day. 2) drink lots of water (around 2-3 litres/day) & keep yourself hydrated. 3) anti-allergic medications are must for you, as the condition may worsen with time.

Hello lybrate user- irregular menses might occur due to two causes, first if you have developed anaemia (low hb count) or you have experienced hormonal disturbances occur in pcod (poly cystic ovarian disease. Try this ayurvedic treatment- a) tab kuberaksha vati 1 tab twice daily. B) tab hyponid 1 tab thrice daily. C) do basti treatment by nearby ayurvedic doctor (it is a very effective treatment in ayurveda for irregular menses). D) maintain proper eating routine, avoid fast foods and spicy diet.

I am having cough and cold for past three days. Which is the best medicine for cough and cold?

MBBS
General Physician, Mumbai
I am having cough and cold for past three days. Which is the best medicine for cough and cold?
There is no best medicine for cough and cold. You have to change your lifestyle. Eat healthy food. Include fruits in your diet especially citrus fruits like lemon, orange and sweet lemon. Amla with high quantity of vitamin c is beneficial. Avoid cold foods like ice cream. This now being a winter season, wear sweater or jacket outdoors and at night. Avoid overcrowded places as they are high risk of getting cold infection. After visiting public places maintain hand hygiene by washing your hands. If you are having sore throat, please gargle with lukewarm salt water 2, 3 times a day. For cold you can take steam inhalations 2, 3 times a day. Do exercises. Have sleep for 7, 8 hours everyday. Do not take stress.

I am 22 years old and I have cough problem always. Also I have hair fall problem too. please suggest.?

Certified Diabetes Educator, Registered Dietitian (RD), PGDD, Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (B.U.M.S), General Physician
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Mumbai
Your hair needs a high protein well-rounded diet. A strand of hair is composed of mostly protein, which means your hair needs protein to grow. Hair and nails are both protein fibers. Hence a therapeutic diet prescribed by a registered dietitian can help a lot in hair growth. Besides diet excessive stress, current/past dandruff and some medication are conclusively known to retard hair growth and promote hair loss. - cut down on the use of hair spray, hair gels, and styling creams that contain harsh chemical ingredients, which can dry out the scalp and cause the formation of flakes. Also harsh treatments such as perms, colours, relaxers etc take a toll on the health of your hair. - avoid changing your shampoo and conditioner constantly. Stick to one good mild cleansing shampoo for six months before changing. - excessive exposure to the sun, pollution, rain water and dust without proper protection makes the hair dry, brittle and limp. Use a live in conditioner during the rains to protect it from the humidity and wash and oil it regularly to maintain a healthy scalp. I may also prescribe medications like biotin or minox. That are proven to help in hairgrowth and repair I being a both a registered dietitian (rd) and doctor have been successfully helping patients with their problems through a holistic approach using customized therapeutic diet and medications. I will also suggest home remedies. Do reply back for private consultation for rx.

I am 47 years old. I am male. Last 10 days dry cough problem. I have hernia operation before 20 days.

MBBS, DGO (cal)
General Physician,
Cough in immediate post-operative period is harmful and one of the reason for failure of operation for hernia. Possibly it is post-anaesthesia cough which usually go but that occur 2 to 7 days following intubation. The other reason is infection. You consult your surgeon urgently and take proper medicine to control it.
