Ideal weight for 5'8" is 60 kg. 1. Avoid fried, fatty, spicy, gravy & junk foods 2. Drink 3 litres water daily but not just before or with meal 3. Have small frequent meals at 2-3 hrs interval instead of 3-4 large ones 4. For weight gain, include foods high in nutrient & calorie density but low in volume- ex: mango lassi, banana kheer, dates-almonds ladoo, til chikki, peanut chikki, bread with peanut butter & cheese omlette, premix with curd/soup, sugarcane juice, mango/bel juice, chicken roll, malt with milk & sugar, paneer paratha/ rice, soyabean cutlet (low oil pan fried), cow/buffalo milk with skim milk powder, rice with ghee, thicker roti with ghee. Include potato & vegetables within dishes or as puree/chutney. 5. Exercise regularly. (strength exercises) 6. Take 10-15 mins light walk post meals & avoid lying down within 1 hr.

DEAR Lybrate USER …. You have to follow some basic things, so that you get better results in a short period of time …. 1) take solid diet two times in a day and liquid diet two times in a day. 3) drink only 100-150 ml of lukewarm water during meals …. 4) don’t drink water before meal for one hour and one hour after meal…5) avoid oily, spicy, junk, fermented and stale foods…. 6) try to sleep upto 10-11 pm. 7) avoid coffee and tea…. A) apply paste of nutmeg and milk on dark circles with gentle massage. Leave it for 10-20 minutes. After it wash face with lukewarm water. Do this two times in a day. B) take 2-2 tablets of chandraprabha vati and aarogyawardhini vati after meals. C) take 30 ml of triphala juice along with 15 ml of honey at night before sleep …. D) take 30 ml of audumbaravleha along with 30 ml of lukewarm water, early in the morning. E) take 10 gm of HARIDRA KHAND after meals…. This formula of treatment is 100% succesful in PROBLEM OF DARK CIRCLES. Consult to me for further suggestions. THANKS.

I am 41 years old. In my house, we family members are using Plastic bottles to drink water usually in refrigerator also to make it cool in summer. It is also mentioned here that so far I know maximum numbers of people in Tripura using plastic bottle for drinking purpose which are selling in market. My question is that" Is it harmful for us" and If so, how much?

Hi, If the plastic bottles are made up of food grade plastic and is reusable again and again and is of good brand, no need to worry, you can use those bottles. To prevent bacteria from growing, they should be cleaned with hot, soapy water and thoroughly dried every time you refill them. Stainless steel bottles are considered the safest alternative to plastic bottles. They are durable and do not leach. Aluminum bottles may also be considered, but some aluminum bottles have lining that may still leach chemicals. Glass is another safe alternative but less practical due to its breakable nature.

Hye, thanks for the query. Firstly it is important to understand that weight /fat loss involves sensible eating. You have to eat the right foods at the right time. Skipping meals makes you gain fat and the next meal becomes heavy again leading to weight gain. Eat small but frequent meals. Reduce your main meals by 1/4th the amount. Take a glass of lime water 10minutes before meals. Avoid long gaps in between meals. Avoid junk as far as possible. Exercise at least 4 times a week. Lastly be committed. Remember it's a lifestyle change and not a one time thing. It's a balanced intake that will last you longer. All the so called diets will only give you muscle and bone loss. The fats will remain as it is. So, try to first follow this seemingly simple tips.

I have frozen shoulder and my consultant prescribed me nervomax 8R and Nuooxia 90 mg for ten days. Two days later after I started medication third day I had loose motion with stomach pain with slight dizziness. Please advise if I can continue with said medicine? Is it due to those medicine? If you r suffering with frozen shoulder then do physiotherapy treatment best for you avoid medicine. Mobilised your shoulder by physio and do exercise for full range of movement and get back to normal.

Hi, It is Acid peptic disease .do not be panic. Its due to hyperacidity. please take Ayurvedic medicine for this problem. Tab. Pravalpanchamrit vati. 2 tab.× 2 times in a day. Syp. Dadimavleha 4 tsp × 3 times a day. Syp. Bhunimbadikaadha 15 ml × 2 times in a day.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. SPRING BEDS, FOLDING BEDS OR THICK MATRESS ARE HARMFUL Use no pillow under the head. DO HOT FOMANTATION. Paracetamol 250mg OD & SOS x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab OD x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again.. Do not ignore .It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Hello and welcome to lybrate. As the stone size is 1 cm, it's big enough to get it out of your kidney. It can be easily treated with a procedure called eswl. As an urologist, I must tell you, there's no permanent cure of stone, but observe preventive steps. Drink atleast 12-15 glasses fluids daily. Avoid milk and dairy products in excess. Red meats also, should be taken once or twice a week only.

Include cardiovascular exercises like running, swimming, jumping etc. agar aap jaldi thak jate ho tab bhi thoda thoda like 15minutes ka workout or sports activitied daily kariye..issse aapka stamina level badega.. eat small meals at regular intervals. drink enough water to reduce dehydration and fatigue. Hello You need not worry. Drink plenty of water. Take 3 main meals and 2 side meals. Don't skip breakfast. Sleep for 7-9 hours per night. Start your day with peanut butter sandwich. After 2 hours take 500ml milk. After 2 hours take 2-3 chapati with ghee applied along with paneer curry. Evening banana shake. Take apple before workout. After workout take 1 scoop of whey protein powder. Dinner take 2-3 chapati with ghee applied along with paneer or soya curry. Thank you

Follow these best tips to lightens and remove the dark spots- 1. Take fuller, s earth (multani mitti) and sandalwood powder (chandan powder) mixed in same quantity mixed in water and apply on the mark in night and wash it after 1 hour. It will slowly removes the spots. 2. Take a piece of aloe vera. Apply gel of leaves on mark daily. Wash it after 30 minutes. 3. Crush one tomato and apply the paste on mark. It will remove the spots definitly. 4. Soak cotton gauze in rose water and clean the dark spots 2-3 times daily. 5. Take carotene rich vegetable suchas carrots, beetroot and fruits- mango, pineapple, strawberry regularly. 6. Avoid use of any cosmetic products. 7. Avoid continous long hours exposure of sunlight.

Good to know that reports of years old boy are normal but there is pain on running. Improve your hemoglobin, ignore the pain. Make sure that you eat right before running and drink lots of water after exercise.

Hi. As height can be gained till 21yrs. of age in males and 18yrs. in females, so you do have 5yrs. more to grow further! Start taking homoeopathic medicines which are safe to take without any side-effects - Bakson's Hite-Aid and Five Phos. - both thrice daily and Thuja 1M/ one dose once a week - take them for 1 month only. Management: Take milk and milk products which contains more calcium. More of protein (for cell multiplication) like pulses, legumes, sprouts, nuts, flaxseeds, non-veg, eggs, etc. Also, don't forget to take green vegetables, yellow veggies and fruits, seasonal fruits, salads, etc. Do skip rope daily, initially 10-20 times later gradually and slowly increase the frequency as per your capacity. Do get indulge in stretch exercises, and sports like basketball, volleyball. Last but not least, do take enough of rest and sleep (which helps in repairing of cells and cell rejuvenation). Acne occurs when overactive sebaceous glands (glands that produce oil in the skin) produce excess oil and the dead skin cells clog the pores of the hair follicle present in the skin. inflammation occurs in the clogged hair follicle resulting in acne.

Let's take a look at myths and facts about acne :

There is no treatment for acne - myth
Acne does not go away on its own. At the same time, toothpaste and picking pimples' are not the best form of treatment for this condition. Acne can be easily treated with over the counter and prescription drugs. In some cases, you may also need antibiotics or hormonal medication. If left untreated, acne can result in permanent scarring that mars your beauty.

Acne is caused by poor hygiene habits - myth
Acne is not caused by dirty skin. Contrary to popular belief, washing your face too many times can make the condition of your skin deteriorate. This can also worsen your acne breakout. Aggressively soaping your skin and excessive use of astringent can also traumatize the skin and make it look worse after treatment. You should ideally wash your face twice a day; once in the morning and once before going to bed. However, if you feel a buildup of oil on your face, you can wash it with lukewarm water and a mild soap.

Makeup causes acne - myth
Makeup has often been misunderstood as a trigger for acne. However, makeup itself does not cause acne. The fault lies in not removing makeup properly at the end of the day. If you have oily skin that is prone to acne, choose powder based foundations instead of liquid foundations that can clog your pores. If you use a lot of makeup through the day, give your skin time to breathe at night. Ensure that every trace of makeup is removed before you go to bed. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Dermatologist.

Dear Lybrateuser, -Your father should maintain a healthy lifestyle including a balanced diet, regular exercise, minimal stress, maintain ideal body weight for his age -a balanced diet includes foods from all major food groups, should have more of vegetables & fruits (avoid banana, chikoo, mango as he has diabetes), whole grains like whole wheat bread/chapatti, brown rice, oats, corn, beans, pulses, sprouts, soya products, tofu, low fat milk & milk products, non-veg, seafood, skinless chicken, nuts such as almonds, walnuts, pistachios, cashews, peanuts, seeds such as flaxseeds, sesame, chia -use olive or canola oil for cooking, not more than two to three teaspoon per day -do regular exercise for 30-40 min like walking, jogging, also do yoga, meditation & deep breathing for 10-15 min in the morning -to reduce stress sleep well for at least 6-7 hrs a night, nap for not more than 30 min in the daytime, read, listen to music, follow a hobby, socialize, talk to family & friends -follow a strict routine as regards food timing, medicine intake, exercise, sleep, blood sugar check & medication -your problem can be controlled with proper habits as it cannot be cured completely -get your doctor check up done regularly.

If you are having some hormonal imbalance, its really very difficult to loose your weight until you dont have proper control on your hormones. You must take a proper ayurveda treatment for the controlling your problems. One home remedy may work for u. Take 5gm ajwain and boil in 1 cup water for 2-3mins. Filter n derink warm in the morning on an empty stomach.
