Arthroscopic pcl reconstruction needs atleast 7-8 months for recovery. it takes more time than a acl reconstruction as the healing time is more. as for hospital stay will be for a few days post surgery

I got disc bulge. My Chiropractor said I got cured. But still I get pain in my calf and tingling feel in my hamstring and my lower back pain is better. My question is those tingling and calf pain is because of disc bulge and am I still affected?

I got disc bulge. My Chiropractor said I got cured. But still I get pain in my calf and tingling feel in my hamstring...
So you have lower back disc bulge. Probably at lower lumbar region. Due to this disc bulge and reduced space in vertebrae, few nerves which goes to your legs are getting compressed. This is what which causing numbness and pain in legs. Most usual finding is a one sided pain and numbness running from hip - to same side outer thigh - to same side calf muscles - ending in side of foot. This presentation is called sciatica (sciatic nerve compression ). This means your disc problem is not fully corrected. I advice you to take 1. MRI spine focusing more on lumbosacral region. 2. Avoid lifting weights, long sitting in same posture eg. Computer usage etc. 3. Can take medicines for both IVDP and sciatica once MRI report says so. Modern medicine management is mostly surgical correction with muscle relaxants. More specific symptomatic management is offered in homeopathy.

First rule out the stiffness of the hip and spine. Spinal mobilization exercise, gym ball exercise, swimming are quite helpful. Stretching of hip and knee muscles are also helpful for this ind of problem. If you have a static cycle you can try that also. Dont go for much strengthening exercise.

Leg cramps, also known as night leg cramps, especially calf-muscle cramps, are fairly common. Please see a orthopedic or physiotherapist to rule out or identify any possible underlying cause. If there is no underlying cause the leg cramps will probably get better without treatment. Try these home remedies for relief -stretching exercises - straighten the leg and bend the ankle backwards, thus stretching the calf muscle. Walk on tiptoes for a few minutes. Stand about one meter from a wall with your feet flat on the ground. Lean forward against the wall with your arms outstretched, but don't lift your heels (keep your heels on the ground). Stay like that for about ten seconds and gently return to an upright position. Repeat about 5 to 10 times. Some people find that these stretching exercises not only help them get over a leg cramp episode, but also that help reduce how often they occur. Typically, a patient would do these exercises two or three times a day. -stay hydrated - as dehydration may increase the risk of leg cramps, drinking plenty of fluids may help prevent them. -footwear - people with flat feet and other structural problems may be more susceptible to leg cramps. Proper footwear may help. -sleeping position-supporting your toes when lying down or asleep: lying on your back - prop up your feet with a pillow/cushion. Lying on your front - let your feet hang over the end of the bed. Bedding - keep blankets and sheets loose. This helps prevent your feet and toes from pointing downwards during sleep. Best wishes.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. The remedy for knee pain is: - intensive physical therapy with focus on strengthening of quadriceps and stretching of other group of muscles - gentle anti inflammatory medications like tab etoshine or tab paracetamol can be taken in small doses for 5-7 days - adequate calcium and vitamin d supplementation as per requirement - ice packs at home for 3-4 times in a day and see how it goes for around 2 weeks time. If your condition does not improve, then we will have to get certain investigations done. Well for your finger pains, my advise will be activity modification, anti inflammatory medications, calcium and vitamin d supplementation for 2-3 weeks and then let me know. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. You can also discuss your case and treatment plans with me in a greater detail in a private consultation.
