You should consult ophthmologist till then you may use antibiotic eye drops 4-5 times (vigamox eye drops).

My mother is of 49 years old, she is having knee problem when ever she is walking for more than 5 mins she tell having pain it is all about 1.5 years onwards so doctor's told her oil something between the knee has been decreased so what to do suggest so that my mother's pain will decrease, also she gets spots on the face which c was not having after using the medicines c got.

Your mother seems to be suffering from early arthritis of the knee. Needs to be evaluated to prevent advanced degeneration and disability.

I have been diabetic since 1997. For the last year n a half I have numbness in my toes although my diabetic control is fair.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. There could be many reasons for numbness but usually it is a manifestation of an impingement of a nerve somewhere alonq its course. Can you please tell me, whether you have any neck pain, radiating upper limb pain, paresthesias etc? also do you feel any difficulty in grip, weakness, wasting of hand muscles etc? anyways I advise you to start with vitamin b 12 supplementation and medication for neuropathic supplementation like pregabalin or gabapentin in basic doses to start with. Do you have any comorbid conditions like diabetes, hypertension etc? please get back to me with answers so that I can advise accordingly. This looks to be a cyst over the ankle area which might have come from the skin itself or from the joint. You may apply local ice cold sponging and show it to your local family doctor to decide course of action.

Previously for my left disc some extra growth came and it touches to spinal cord because of that I was getting leg and back pain. In 2011 doctor did some operation and removed extra growth after that till last week I haven't faced any problem. But now I am getting pain at operated place and full leg pain and low back ache. My height is 5.7 and weight is 90kgs.

Hi lybrate user, first there is no abnormal growth of disc rather compression of disc and waking of posterior annulus causing disc herniation. I believe surgery done was probably laminectomy or micro discectomy. In 60% of patients undergoing open spine surgery gets pain after 2/3 years not because surgery was not done properly but because of manipulation of dural membrane which causes adhesion & then this condition is labelled as failed back surgey syndrome (fbss). Treatment of fbss depends on current symtoms and mri findings. If there is no acute or recurrent herniation then something called adhesinolysis (percutaneous neuroplasty) can be done to break all the adhesions. If there is recurrent herniation then it can be removed by endoscopic spine surgery without manipulating dural membrane, if above mentioned procedures not possible due to severity of degeneration or migration of disc or ligament flavum hypertrophy then spinal cord implant or intrathecal pump can be placed for pain. Exercises for Spasm and Back Pain

A pain in the back can make even small, daily activities like bathing, getting dressed or even bending down to pick up things difficult. A quick and thorough treatment of such problems can prevent the problem from worsening. In such cases, there is an obvious need to exercise the lower back muscles. However, before performing these exercises, a lot of preparation is required to get your back into shape. Taking enough time to warm up and stretch the muscles can make a significant difference between helping and making the problem worse.

Why should you exercise your lower back? 
The main reason for exercising the lower back region is to make it move gently through all types of motion so that it can have a greater range of movement during daily activities. Core strengthening exercises and stretches are recommended to prevent back pain. While doing these exercises, try avoiding activities that cause pain or discomfort. Pain is a sign of problem and one must be careful to avoid it during these exercises as it shows that you are hurting yourself in some way or the other. 

Activities to be followed:
The following activities can help in increasing the flow of blood to the sore areas of your back and prepare for more activity, thus reducing the chance of aggravation.

  1. Soak in a tub of water: Fill a tub with water to a level that you will tend to float and thus reduce the force of gravity on your spine and muscles. Epsom salt can be added to relax the muscles. Do not to sit up too high in as it can cause stress to the low back discs. Slide down low enough so that the back is allowed to flatten a small amount, thus reducing disc and muscle stress.
  2. Use local heat to reduce muscle spasms: Soak a large towel with hot water and wring it out. Place it on the low back where your pain is located. You can also place a damp towel in the microwave oven long enough so as to heat the towel. Be careful not to overheat the towel. Place the warm cloth on the area of your pain for about ten minutes.
  3. Hip slides: Lie on your back. First move one hip and then the other towards your shoulders. Raise your right hip towards the right shoulder and then the left hip towards the left shoulder. Raise one of your hips and then the other up off the floor so that your back twists a little. Raise the right hip off from the floor and then do the same with your left hip.
  4. Windmill: This is a general back exercise. Create big circles with your arms by rotating them in clockwise and anticlockwise circles.

These activities are an excellent way to reduce back spasms and the stress on your back.

For pain take tablet paracetamol 650 mg and also start with Tablet folvite 5mg once a day for six months and tablet vitamin D3 60000iu once a week for six months and continue physiotherapy treatment

dear hardik. go for Vitamin D3 test. deficiency of calcium may be the reason for pain in leg and joints. apply heat fermentation daily with diclofenac ointment for 10 days. if still pain persist take inferential therapy.

Hi there are various reasons for joint pain physical examination is needed. You can start physiotherapy treatment to strengthen the muscles around the knee joint. Requires examination and investigation in detail. Presently investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d xray of the affected part. Anyway you may try sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head do hot fomentation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform

Massage with your thumbs from the mid points of the shoulder blades on both sides towards the lower back of your head up to lower level of the ears. Use oil or water for massage. Rotate your head clockwise and anticlockwise, forward and down, left and right a few times. Do for 5 to 10 times morning and evening. Give pressure the dipping point on the portion between the thumb and the index finger on the back of the palm. Press and release for 15 times where the pain is more. This will solve the problem. Further do some wrist rotation exercise. Inform after 5 days.
