I am 24 yr old. My canine teeth are crooked and elevated outside. Then I consulted a orthodontist, she said that your teeth size is big so they are misaligned and for the alignment of teeth your first premolar is to be removed. Removing the premolar can affect the head and created much pain, isn't it?

it is a misconception and myth that removing any tooth is going to affect your head or eyes. Pain related to the wound after extracting the tooth can be controlled with pain killers and does not last for too long. You can safely get your tooth removed without getting any damage to your head.

I have bleeding in my mouth when I brush it. Please help me?

BDS
Dentist,
I have bleeding in my mouth when I brush it. Please help me?
Hi gum bleeding can be due to various factors. After proper examination by your dentist you will come to know the exact cause of it. Main and basic reasons for your gum bleeding& bad breath problem are plaque/calculus/tartar deposits present in your teeth. These factors cause gum inflammation known as gingivitis which leads to swollen and bleeding gums. Apart from this other reasons for gum bleeding could be improper alignment of the teeth deficiency of vitamin c (also known as scurvy) prolonged use of some medications like aspirin, underlying systemic conditions like bleeding disorders.(very very rare possibility) it is advisable to visit a dentist and get proper treatment done which may include scaling (i. E. Professional cleaning) & or flap surgery to avoid loss of teeth in long run also scaling is to be done every 6 months as a routine maintenance procedure for healthy teeth and strong gums.

Teeth pain may be due to various reasons like infection, sensitivity or trauma. If your teeth is decayed it is better to get it filled or treated by a dentist. If you are opting for root canal treatment do not forget to get a crown on the effected tooth. If you want to go for only medicinal treatment so let me tell you only medicine are not going to be very effective untill you get this treated by a dentist.

Pain killers like ibuprofen and aspirin can be taken to lighten the inflammation or pain caused by the root canal treatment.

Hi, my tooth hurts when I walk or while I exercise. But it doesn't when I eat. Kindly suggest what might be the factors.

BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
Kindly clarify whether it is one tooth or the whole mouth pains. In no pain on eating means there is not much damage. If pain persists than contact dental surgeon, he will examine and treat you.

I have so much pain in my teeth when I drink anything cold. Suggest me what I have to do.

BDS
Dentist, Vadodara
I have so much pain in my teeth when I drink anything cold. Suggest me what I have to do.
It can be either due to decay or sensitivity. Get your teeth x-rayed to determine the cause of pain. Decay can be removed n cavity can be filled with cement with or without rct depending on the proximity of decay to the nerve endings. For sensitivity, use desensitizing toothpaste like sensodyne twice daily.

Gingivitis (Gum DIsease)

BDS
Dentist, Jodhpur
Gingivitis (Gum DIsease)
Gingivitis is an early gum disease. It affects the surface layers of the gum, particularly where the gum meets the tooth. At this stage, there is no damage to the deeper parts of the gums, teeth or bone.

The signs of gingivitis are:
1. Bleeding gums, especially when brushing or eating
2. Redness and swelling of the gum.

The good news is that gingivitis can be reversed.
You might think it is best to stop brushing if your gums are red or puffy. Try to keep brushing, as this will get rid of the bacteria and plaque that is causing the problem. Soon the gums should look and feel better. If not, see your dentist for proper treatment.

Yes. Mouth ulcers left untreated generally go away in a week or so; with these home remedies, you can expect faster relief. However, if you notice an ulcer in the mouth that is persistently present although it does not cause you any pain, do not neglect it or try to treat it with home remedies beyond a few days. Make it a point to see a doctor soon because often, a painless mouth ulcer is one of the earliest signs of oral cancer.

Hello lybrate user, orthodontic treatment can be done at any age provided you have a good periodontium. Since you have mentioned your age as 25, it's perfect to undergo orthodontic (braces) treatment. The duration of treatment can vary from 1 and half to 2 years depending upon the severity of your condition. The changes from this treatment will be permanent as you will have dentoalveolar changes over a period of time. As a patient you will be able to appreciate the minor dental changes (alignment of teeth) within 1-2 months after you wear the braces.

Healthy Gums

BDS (GOLD MEDALIST)
Dentist, Jamshedpur
Healthy Gums
You can exercise for healthier gums as well. Gently bite down so as to make sure that your teeth make a clinking sound when they meet. Repeat this 30 to 40 times continuously. This exercise will stimulate the flow of blood and will keep your gums healthy.

Visit a dentist. The method of acidic micro abrasion, followed by remineralisation procedures, assures a considerable recovery of the dental surfaces affected by fluorosis. Best way is capping or veneers for upper front 6 teeth & lower front 6 teeth. Until then use tooth mousse tooth paste. Apply this paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min. Then brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight for better results.
