Basically Lymphoplasmacytic Lymphoma gets its name because this form of lymphoma has symptoms of both lymphocytes and plasma cells and is one of the rarely occurring forms of cancer. Here the common symptoms also vary ranging from blurriness, dizzy vision, numbness and tingling sensation in the body along with excessive bleeding from common wounds.
HOW IS LYMPHOPLASMACYTIC LYMPHOMA DIAGNOSED?
A general physician would observe these symptoms and run a few blood and tissue tests. If needed biopsy and scans would also be done.
HOW IS LYMPHOPLASMACYTIC LYMPHOMA TREATED?
There is no specific cure for Lymphoplasmacytic Lymphoma, only symptomatic relief is possible. Based on the severity of disease, the treatment may be provided. Chemotherapy, radiation therapy, plasmapheresis and biotherapy are commonly followed treatment methods. For severe cases surgical removal of spleen is performed to stop spreading of Lymphoplasmacytic Lymphoma. Clinical trials for medications are also conducted.
