This is a debilitating condition that leaves the patient feeling constantly tired and exhausted. The feeling of fatigue does not allow the patient to indulge in normal day to day functioning. It may be caused due to low blood pressure, or a weak immunity system. The symptoms include persistent drowsiness, lack of concentration, memory impairment and pain in the muscles.
HOW IS CHRONIC FATIGUE DIAGNOSED?
A general physician diagnoses this condition though it is very difficult. There are no lab tests to screen chronic fatigue and its symptoms are common to many illnesses. In order to be diagnosed with this condition, you must have at least four of the above symptoms listed. Also, there must be severe unexplained fatigue that cannot be cured with bed rest. The fatigue and other symptoms must last for six months or longer

Treatment of chronic fatigue depends on the symptoms. If it is due to improper diet, then Nutritionists may advise dietary changes. Antidepressants may be given for those having mental issues or sleep disorders.
