It seems that you are severely depressed for this problem- pks try to get ridbof anxiety as it can further hamper your fertility. We need to know how frequently do you have sexual relationship and for how long yiu are trying. Often very few tests are needed and patients may get pregnant even before any investigation.

You can conceive but before conception we need to perform Doppler Echo. And remember, HOCM is aggravated during pregnancy and may turn serious and there is 50% chance that your baby may have this

Can I do floor exercise like mountain climbing, plank, bicycle crunch, when I'm planning to get pregnant?

Can I do floor exercise like mountain climbing, plank, bicycle crunch, when I'm planning to get pregnant?
The type of fitness activities performed while Trying to Conceive (TTC) is very important. Myself being a homoeopth consider many exercises to be both safe and permissible, while other exercises might not be the best undertaking. Not all exercise is good exercise when TTC. Certain precautions have to be taken when it comes to conceiving. If you are more into extreme sports – contact sports, scuba diving, downhill skiing, snowboarding, surfing, mountain climbing, etc.… – common sense should tell you to abandon anything that could increase your chances of an abdominal/pelvic injury. Additionally, if your fitness activity includes frequent, high-intensity exercise or if you are in the elite athlete tier, it may be worth it to decrease your activity level to see if this could be the root of a conception problem. The best recommended exercises, with moderate intensity, include swimming, walking, and gentle Light yoga -------Thatsall.

Hi I have been married for 3.5 years, more than a year we are planning for baby. But My wife is unable to conceive. We have consulted various doctors and came up different opinions, still in confusion which to conclude. One says PCOD, one says there are submuscoal fibroids in Uterus and another says there is a block in fallopian tubes (right side corneal block). Please advise what should be the cause for infertility. We are tired of spending money in various test.

Hi lybrate-user, there are so many causes of infertility. Go to infertility specialist and evaluate accordingly. Do not go to multiple hospitals for treatment this will drain your money. Have patience keep hope and plan accordingly.

For nulliparous woman (not having any issue) ideally barrier contraceptives are best like condoms. If you are not comfortable with barrier contraceptive than OCP is second option. OCP is safe and can be taken as long as you desire. IUCD should be avoided in nulliparous woman because of the risk of infection and tubal blockage.

Busted: 10 Myths About Infertility

There are some commonest misconceptions about infertility, and these misconceptions should be eliminated as soon as possible so that the actual facts can be known. There are many online sites where you can find detailed information on the scientific explanations regarding infertility, and you can follow them.

List of myths and facts regarding infertility

1.Myth: The menstrual cycle of a woman is for 28 days.
Fact: Normal cycle ranges between 21-36 days.

2.Myth: A woman can have pregnancy on the day one of menstrual cycle.
Fact: The released eggs remain viable for almost 12-14 hours, and a woman can get pregnant after an intercourse done two-days after ovulation and five-days before ovulation.

3.Myth: Infertility occurs due to stress.
Fact: Ovulation can surely get delayed due to hormone suppression, but infertility does not occur due to stress.

4.Myth: Sperms stay active for few hours.
Fact: Sperms stay alive at least for five days.

5.Myth: Men with a higher sexual-drive will have a normal sperm-count.
Fact: No relation is there in between fertility and virility. Sometimes, it has been found that men having a higher sex-drive do not produce sperms.

6.Myth: Women have to wait for three months to conceive after stopping the usage of contraceptive pills.
Fact: As soon as a woman stops pill usage, hormonal levels go back to normal condition, as a result of which ovulation begins immediately.

7.Myth: Only females have infertility troubles.
Fact: Both women and men suffer from infertility troubles as per the current scientific studies.

8.Myth: Ovulation occurs in a woman on the 14th day of menstrual cycle.
Fact: Ovulation can be calculated by counting 14 days backwards from the past menstrual cycle's last day.

9.Myth: Daily sex can increase conceiving chances.
Fact: During ovulation, having sex each day, especially in between 12-16th day of the cycle can be the best timing.

10.Myth: Fertility troubles occur at 35.
Fact: Peak fertility timing in a woman's life is 20, and this might continue until late 30s. Fertility troubles might even arrive at a younger age. With age, conception chances get declined, especially after 35.

If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Gynaecologist.

My husband and me will meet only few days in a month. We are from a poor family so only that is possible. To conceive for sure is having sex on alternate days during fertile window enough?

Hello- Because sperm lasts several days in the human body, and a woman’s egg only last a maximum of 24 hours, the best time to have sex to get pregnant is a few days before ovulation should occur. Couples should begin having sex five days before a woman will ovulate and one day after ovulation. Couples should try to have sex at least every other day.
