This can cause bleeding post the D&C. sometimes, the instrument inserted can hit you cervix by accident. This causes an injury to the cervix that can worsen if not taken care of properly. If non-sterile instruments are used or the procedure is performed in unhygienic conditions, it can cause infections. Make sure that you are in a sterile place where sterile instruments are being used. Make sure you get proper anesthesia so that you are not able to move your body while the D&C is being performed.
