If sex is considered as a stress buster, can masturbation be left behind? It has the same benefits and promotes sleep, reduces stress and anxiety, and leaves one feeling refreshed. However, it could get addictive and then definitely poses a problem. It may not be obvious that someone is doing it, but if noticed, should not be suspiciously noted. Masturbation is some people?s way of relaxing, so need not be looked at differently; within limits though!

It is believed that by overmasturbating, men are exhausted and lost pleasure and/or interest in sex. This is not true, however. What is possible though is that some extra effort is required from both the person and the partner to get used to regular sexual touch and activity. Those who masturbate are accustomed to a different touch and need to switch to feeling excited with another person?s touch. There is no limit on the number of times that a person can get excited and stimulated; it is a complete myth.

It is a completely normal part of growth, and both boys and girls indulge in it during their growing years as they discover their sexual side. What is important though is some education around the whole thing with some guidance from parents, so that they know what is good and what is bad. Bad influence can lead to addictive and bad habits, which can be easily controlled. While it is normal, with about more than 50% of girls and 70% of boys indulging in masturbation, education is equally important.

Another myth ? whether or not in a relationship, people (both men and women) masturbate. This is completely dependent on the level of stimulation and does not hamper the relationship in most cases. Some couples could indulge in masturbating jointly, which also avoids complications like pregnancy.
