You need to use an effective contraception. Contracetive pills like yasmin/ novelon are easily available in the market and affordable. They are very effective in preventing unwanted pregnancy if used consistently. There are however a few contraindications like active liver disease; migraines, propensity to form blood clots etc; other option is to get a copper or mirena coil fitted. Third option is to use barrier methods like condoms and diaphragms. They have to be used at the time of sex. But the failure rates are slightly higher.
