Hi lybrate-user, please get a Mantoux Test done as soon as possible. Also Get a chest X-ray done to find out the cause. Dry cough for more than 3 weeks can be due to Tuberculosis, allergy or any infection. It can also be very painful and irritating. You can also try some of these if you haven't tried them already. Drink plenty of clear fluids such as fruit juices, tea, or simply water. Staying well hydrated will provide your body with the extra fluid it needs if your cough is due to a cold or infection. Try soothing, steamy drinks as well, such as hot tea with lemon juice and honey, which can relieve irritation in your throat while keeping your body hydrated. Quit smoking if you do smoke.
