My wife aged 52 complains that she is feeling pain at the lower end of spine just above the rectum (tip of lower end of spinal chord). No other age related ailments such as diabetes or BP etc. Seven years since removal of uterus and ovary not removed. Kindly advise cause of this ailment and remedial treatment.

Dear lybrateuser, - The pain could be due to inflammation or trauma of the bone at the lower end of spine - she should sit with a cushion or pillow - apply pain relief gel three times a day - can take pain relief tablet after meals if pain is more, max three times a day - do spinal exercises to strengthen the spine - get x- ray sacral region done to know the exact cause, consult a doctor.
