I think you are giving him top milk with bottle. That is why baby is not sucking well at the breast, please stop bottle feeding discuss latching of baby to the breast with your pediatrician or lactation specialist. Top feed is never as healthy as breast milk.

Hello, Being premature, he would have born with low, birth weight. At the age of 2.5 months if he weighs 3 kgs it should be doing OK. But it largely depends on his birth weight. Give him more of your milk, as being premature he would be immune compromised. Mother milk is the best food for the baby, as it boosts immunity and it is also a complete food for the baby. If he is constantly crying every hour for milk, it means he is underfed. Ensure 20 mins of feed on each breast is crucial, generally babies get tired or go off to sleep in that process, wake him up and ensure that the baby doesn't sleep half way.
