I am 42 years old. Taking thyrox 25 since last 4 yrs. Everyafter 6 months I am testing blood. T3, T4 was normal but TSH was little more than normal. But last tm it was 8.92.so I took thyrox 50. After 3 months, nw I chest it is showing little less than the normal level. Should I stop it or continue with thyrox 25. Pl.suggest.?

Jayashriji, Ideally when you are on treatment for hypothyroidism with adequate dosage of thyroxine then TSH should be maintained around 3 to 4 mU/L, then most of the symptoms are well in control. If the TSH levels go up, then the symptoms invariably reappear. Changing the dosage on your own is not good. It is better to take your doctor's opinion. Further there is no mention of current TSH level to give any opinion.Thanks
