Normal ranges can vary by individual, and they can even change over the course of a day. Also, ranges can vary slightly from lab to lab: 0.4: normal 2.5: at risk 4.0: mild hypothyroidism 10.0: hypothyroidism. Today's TSH tests are very accurate and sensitive; they can help diagnose even the mildest cases of hypothyroidism. I think the report first given is not correct as physician diagnosed hypo and TSH was normal.
