I have 50-60 percent hearing loss in one ear due to a slap. Dr. has prescribed me hearing aid of Rs-17000 which is not affordable for me. I searched online and found it and price start around 500+ so pls tell whether it's functioning /working will be different or it is just the quality of the aids. Pls tells me that should I buy and use it or not.

When did the trauma happen to the ear (slap). Are you diagnosed to have conductive deafness or mixed hearing loss. Is your other ear normal? If you are surgically unfit you may consider hearing aid as an option. Economy class BTE hearing aids are affordable and cost below 10000rs. Please seek. A second opinion about management of the condition. Hearing aid is prescribed by an Audiologist who has a degree bachelors or masters in Audiology and license to practice. Hearing aid is not prescribed or fitted by a doctor in medicine. They expertise in medical and or surgical management not Rehabilitation. Online purchase will only cause further damage to you as it cannot be fitted based on individual acoustic requirements. Good luck.
