Poor lifestyle can cause many health problems apart from obesity like heart diseases, diabetes, gastric complaints etc. I understand that you can not change your work profile so start working on improving your life style. Here are few tips which can help you in improving your metabolic rate. 1) Do regular exercise 2) soak half tbs of cinnamon powder /cumin seeds/fenugreek seeds at night. Drink the water in morning after boiling. This will increase your metabolism. You can have cinnamon tea in evening also. 3) try not to sit for atleast half n hr after meals n drink half cup warm water after 1 hr of your meal. 4) Use staircase instead of life where ever possible. Take atleast 20000 steps a day.
