I'm 40 years old. Have been suffering with throat infections throughout since childhood. I have also been a smoker since almost 20 years. I have reduced smoking since past 3 years to just once a week. And for the past 10 months very very occasionally. I have been suffering from throat irritation since three months and also suffered from severe tonsillitis with fever 10 days back. Initially the irritation and pain was on left side. Then it shifted to right side and the left side became ok. Then for a day every thing was fine, until I had an ice cream and again it came back. I have been seeing two ENT surgeons and they both are of the opinion that it is allergic. There is no lymph node enlargement no problem in swallowing food. The irritation goes and comes back again in few hours. It disappears for 1-2 days and comes back. I have taken anti allergic, antibiotics ,gargles. All have been useless. My throats looks clear except for signs of irritation. Now the doctor has prescribed Septilin tabs saying this might help. Kindly guide me what to do. I'm a dentist myself.
