Hi doctor. My tsh was 1.8 last month when I was taking 50 mg medicine. I stopped the medicine for a month & my tsh was 4.15. Do I have thyroid? I am unable to lose weight. I have come down to one chapati from 2 and avoid heavy late night dinners. At nite mostly I have a daal or corn nowadays with some fruit etc. I exercise for half & hour almsst 4 or 5 days a week mostly upper and lower body ones. I drink lemon water empty stomach in the morning and green tea also dont eat junk food please help

You check your present tft in full & anti thyroid antibodies (tpo/ama) and inform me. I wonder why thyroxine was started at 1.8 tsh. Be clear in all respects and share with me as your personal doctor.

It appears you have hypothyroidism. When you were taking thyroxine hormone tsh (thyroid stimulating hormone) levels were low. On stopping that levels have gone up. You have to restart the same medicine at same dosage, it must be taken on empty stomach early morning and nothing thereafter for two hrs. Please follow this meticulously for life. On taking treatment you will be able to lose weight, but the intensity of exercise has to increase to more than one hr a day. Also control your diet.
