I am 37 year old with diabetes and have been diagnosed with Glaucoma in my right eye. I want to know what is the best treatment and management of glaucoma. Is surgery safe and will there be no recurrence of glaucoma. The eye specialist has given me eye drops which I have to put life long. Or should I go for surgery.

You are only 37 years old & have been put on anti-glaucoma drugs. Now a days surgery is not first line treatment because there is lot's of eye drops to control intra ocular pressure (iop. First get optic disc evaluation & perimetery done by glaucoma specialist to assess the stage of glaucoma, then medication will be decided. Like blood pressure, regular check up must for iop monitoring, you will not be advised for surgery at present & will be put on anti-glaucoma eye drops with regular check up.
