Dear Madam, Thyroxine replacement medicine can have the usual gastrointestinal side effects like nausea, vomiting etc. But these are temporary and will settle down. Most of these tablets do not have any major side effects. There are lots of patients on these tablets without any major problems. But you need to get your thyroid function tests check periodically once every 3-6 months. If the tablet dose is high and if tests are not done and if the dose is not reduced then patient can become hyperthyroid where he will be having symptoms of weight loss, palpitations etc. Hope this has helped you Thank you.
