Dear Lybrate user, ideally you should have got crown/cap placement immediately after finishing your root canal treatment because in the long run, these problems arise. The tooth becomes brittle and can even break. Visit your dentist at the earliest possible to know your options. Either get a cap over the tooth or replace the tooth with an implant if capping is not possible.

Hello, you need to visit a dentist and get an x-ray of the tooth. If the root canal treatment is done properly with no infection to the root, there is no need to go for an implant. Just get a cap fixed over the tooth.

I would suggest. First fix a crown on your treated tooth. May be fix your problem from crown only. No. Need to implant another tooth.

If you hav developed pain in that rct treated tooth then you hav to visit a dentist, do xray of that tooth. If everything comes fine, then only immediately go for capping. If the treated tooth comes problematic, then go for retreatment or extraction followed by capping or implant.
