Swelling in the inner lining of stomach is known as gastritis, in long term if untreated, it leads to indigestion and ulcers in stomach, it gives you gaseous fullness in your abd. Avoid too spicy and oily food and avoid late night eating. And sour food. Don't lie down immediately after taking diet. Recent or of short duration it does not lead to constipation.

In simple words, it is inflammation or swelling of internal coating of the stomach wall commonly due to irritant foods, infections or hyper acidity. This may cause mild to severe discomfort or pain, more so after food in the upper abdomen with or without nausea or voming. This if continues for long, as in chronic gastritis, discourages the person to eat and reduced diet leads to constipation.
