You should follow these instructions to get fast recovery - 1. You can do only light and simple execises. Do normal walk. If you want to walk fast then first wear knee supporting knee cap before walk. 2. Do not run. As running can give you sudden jerk to the ligament and the pain will start that makes you feel uncomfortable. So do not give sudden jerk to legs. 3. If you are overweight then follow the diet plan to Weight loss that makes the load less on your knee joints and makes you feel light. 4. Follow the simple bending of knee joint exercise for strengthing of leg muscle.

After knee ACL surgery you must take physiotherapy at least for 2 months. Focus on strengthening exercises for the knee joint. Apply cold pack on the swelling region. Heating is prohibited until swelling subsides. Walk with support. If someone follows every instructions given by surgeon and physiotherapist, doing exercises properly then one can gain ability to drive after 2 & 1/2 months of surgery. Avoid alcohol just for precautionary measures.

Hi wear a knee brace for 8 weeks, avoid climbing. Do quadriceps drill after learning from a trained physiotherapist. Do not do any other exercise for six weeks. Use walking stick in opposite hand for 6 weeks to take weight off the operated knee consult your treating surgeon for further advise and precautions best wishes.
